A box AF Hemingway Short Story MD and two boxes of AF 858 MD enroute to my humidor. The SS are from that sweet Tampa place and the 858s I wasn't planning but that darn monkey got me with a sale.

^ per cigar or the whole box?? I have a box of those Need to smoke out of it. Think I’ve only had 1 when they were fresh. Wasn’t bad but think they were over humidified. Stashed them for later

Whole box. Haven't had one in a while but what I have smoked did not wow me - but I do feel I didn't overpay.

During the summer, I'm usually out, here or there. Tubo cigars are always handy.
I just received a box of Punch Diablo Gusto tubos, three boxes of Oliva V Double Robust tubos and a box of Rocky Patel Decade tubos.
This added to all of my La Aurora Preferido tubos already on hand. Highly convenient.

AF Don Carlos No. 3 (5.5"x44)

I like the Don Carlos but hadn't tried the original No. 3. I'm not sure when I picked these up but found a couple in my random Fuente box and boy they are good. I think the No.3 might be my new favorite Don Carlos.

Illusione Epernay. Box dated December 2021. But my excitement was short lived when I opened the inner sleeve and found em to have mold...

Shop doesn't have that size in stock anymore, I asked if they would exchange it for a similar size, but that box is $7 more. Waiting to hear back. Problem is I used a $30 coupon and don't want to lose that $30 taking a refund otherwise I'd just take the refund and order the other size.

PW, I wanted to ask if you have tried the 8-5-8 Candela and what are your thoughts on Candela? I know it’s a very light / mild tobacco but I was wondering if they have much flavor. Thanks

I've never tried a Candela. I thought about it once or twice but after reading descriptions I'm not sure it would be my thing. I suppose I'll probably pick one up some time but not going out of my way for it.

I would try one Candela before buying several different cigars with candela wrappers. Candelas have a unique strong grassy taste that some ppl (like me) absolutely hate.

Thanks, Toker. I think I’ll hold off on them for now but if I decide to try, I’ll go with singles.

Same. I've thankfully only tried one or three but it was enough to let me know they're not for me.

First cigar I ever had was a Garcia Y Vega tubo which had a candela wrapper and binder. Very strong candela taste. That cigar, because it was cheap and had a heavy Candela taste turned me off to cigars. It was over a decade before I tried another cigar, thankfully a connecticut,
and found that I liked cigars, just not candelas. If it wouldn't have been for that nasty azz Garcia Vega I could've been enjoying cigars much sooner.

We used to keep a box of Dutch master honey candela around. Take the lead off. Refill. Then put the leaf back on. Ya know. Lotta fun back in those days. My buddy lived with his mom. Anything went around there. We had people stop by the crib just to have one rolled up. I was master torcedor. We smoked a lot of lancero shaped things back then. And drank a lot. I don’t regret it

Have you tried the other releases on that? I would like to try them all but the San Andres wrapper is probably the one I’m most interested in.

The Sumatra that Carillo wanted. Probably a good choice if he came up with that wrapper.

I just got a handful of fivers from the page place and they seem to have upped their game.

There is a Boveda (the little ones) in each individual zip lock and there was a cool 4-pack of promo coasters in the box, too.

Well done.

I’ve received 2 orders from the small place recently and they had the little Boveda packs. I’m new to the small place, had to go there to find some of the recommended cigars in recent threads.

How do you store your boxes? Bust out the sticks and lay them in a ‘dor? Or put the whole box in storage w/cigars still inside original box? Or something else? I’m still working it out and appreciate any suggestions you might have.

I've had most of Crowned Heads' library. None I found to be bad, it's a pretty solid brand across the board. Or at least was, I haven't been buying in many years so things change but I've been buying from brands I liked before and blenders I liked before who are now at different companies. I believe CH is still intact from before so I'm hoping they're still a solid buy. I have had Mule Kicks before and enjoyed them. Nothing spectacular to chase after or anything but I have enough trust to blind buy a box.

Everyone has their own storage methods and everyone's right. You need to figure out what works for your situation. Most of us who hoard a large quantity of cigars do so in airtight or mostly airtight containers. This could be an entirely separate thread and I'm sure it is. But to answer your question briefly, I leave them in the box and put the box in a large sealed case. I use Pelican-style cases because I got a couple big ones for free. But many use gasketed totes or marine coolers. Benefit of a cooler is it also slows temperature swings. I store in the basement which stays at a pretty constant temp year round so I don't need to worry about that. If I were to store in a closet upstairs I would probably do a cooler because the temps change quite a bit throughout the day especially in the summer when the windows are open.

I have a few big outdoor weather-sealed tuppers and a couple large coolers. I just put the whole box in one of those. I take the plastic wrap off before I do.

After I smoke out of the box and create room in it, I will add the odd 5 or 10 pack (or singles) and stick a post-it on it to remind me of what's in it.

Empty boxes are full of randos and 5vers and such with a post-it on the outside.

Most of the storage bins have a tray for easy access to stuff I erroneously think I want to smoke soon. Usually I wind up digging through the boxes anyway.

You can also just take the top off of an old crappy box and use that for a makeshift tray.

You better stuff a bill in my tip jar. Don't want to hear no change clinking in there.

Thanks a lot Danm. I’ve got a large plastic bin used for storing sports coats or large winter coats. It has a snap down lid but I would not say it is airtight. I currently have a few boxes in it and tons of fivers. I was putting everything thing in Boveda bags and then putting them in that coat storage box and sliding it under the bed. I’ve got approximately 800 cigars in right now. Thanks for the tips and snaps, I’ll check them out.

Wow, that’s a sweet set up. I can probably score some free pelican style bins…might take a minute though

Totes like this with a gasket: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sterilite-19314304-37-Quart-Thin-Latched-Gasket-Plastic-Storage-Bin-Tote-Clear/2941472553?from=/search

If you want more organization this is slightly cheaper than buying trays and tote separately https://a.co/d/iO4Voo2

Those look good. Right now I’ve got the thing I mentioned above and I’ve been buying the 236oz snap lip containers that Jake told me about. I’ve got 4 now and another on the way, which I’ll need on Saturday when my next CB shipment arrives. I’ve bought a lot of cigars since last October and I’ve received quite a few too. Probably about 80 cigars have been gifted to me from you guys. I think I need professional help. I can’t stop buying cigars.

Idk if they still honor the 10% off codes “BOTL” / “BOTLORG” / “BOTL.ORG” or “Katman” but next time you order some non-sale items, try one of them.
