18, wc 10. Cold weekend ahead. As the temps rise, so does the wind, complicating assessing the optimal dog walking time.

Miscellaneous stuff to get done this morning.

Bags are packed. Truck is fueled up. Snacks are purchased. Bunch of movies loaded on my tablet for the boy.

Chickens have hopefully a week's worth of food and water. I usually fill them on Tuesdays and have about 1-2 days left in their containers when I do it. Changed the kitty litter and filled a 2nd litter box for him cause he seems to be able to count days and will relieve himself next to the litter box on day 5.

Dog went to the groomer to get her shedding controlled before she goes to my mother in law's.

Gotta shave my head and I think we're ready. I plan to leave around 0300 so we arrive around bedtime and aren't tired and crabby. I've left in the morning and arrived at midnight but wife n boy need 9-10 hours sleep. I've left at night and they can't sleep in the car so we get there at noon and everyone's crabby and tired. Hopefully this plan works.

A Great Friday Afternoon to All! Up early helping a buddy take out an Elm tree from the hill above our driveway. He is into bonsai trees and plans on using the stump to create a weathered looking "old" tree. He is also working on getting out a weeping yaupon tree of ours to do the same thing. The yapon has out grown it's location.

Enjoying a cup of coffee and resting after shoveling mud out of a drain above the house. Got our Green Egg lifted out of the rotting cyprus table and into a metal stand. I'm breaking down the table, about a gazillion SS screws to collect before taking the debris to the dump... maybe Monday.

My sister Lori died on Wednesday night; Ash Wednesday and Valentine's Day. We're pretty sure she did that so we could have a point of reference to remember the date. She passed peacefully and without distress or pain, quietly in her sleep. Her last few years were filled with health issues, some old, but most due to the ravages of brain cancer. We admire her courage and ability to endure her health problems without complaint, while keeping her dignity and sense of humor. We will remember the version of her before her illness. She had a sarcastic wit, a love of life and an outgoing and flirtatious personality. She loved to shop and was generous to a fault. See you later, older sister...I'll miss you til then...

Heart felt condolences Delta. I'm confident that she will rest in peace. Her body may have ended but I truly believe that her sprint lives on. It lives in the heart and souls of people and things that she has touched. She will never be gone unless the memories of her from the people and things she influenced is forgotten.

Even a simple food recipe that she loved to make and eat has her loving footprints in it.

Morning gents. A nice 45 going to a sunny 72 here. Pretty sure spring is in the air. Early morning hike in the desert with Spunky and a local car show this afternoon with the '65 is all that is planned.

Very sorry for your sis Al. Her suffering is over and the good memories will live on with you and your family.

Black seabass. Caught 2 keepers, one each. They've got to be over 13" from nose to tail, so we threw quite a few back. Both of us caught keeper ringtail. Lots and lots of grunts.

It was a very long drive. 18 hours. Normally 15.5-16

Very glad I had the new vehicle. Around Lafayette indiana long turn truck started going sideways on ice. Electronic nannies saved my bacon on the ice there, and several more times as I65 was iced over from Lafayette to Columbus IN. It took me nearly 7 hours to get to Louisville. Usually takes about 4.

Once we got on the Florida turnpike it started pouring and I hydroplaned several times but the truck did its thing.

Several wrecks from the rain in FL. I stopped counting around 40ish cars n trucks from the ice in Indiana.

Brought our bags in and went straight to bed. I'm beat. See yall tomorrow
