Well, unfortunately I am now back at home. Pto Vallarta was great. Clear skies and 80 degrees every day. Lots of Pacifico, Corona and Dos Equis. Tried Negra Modello, Indio, Tecate, Sol but none of them could compare to the Pacifico. You were right, it just tastes a thousand times better sitting on the beach than it does anywhere else. I took with about 30 of those cigars that roll around in the bottom of the humidor, the ones that are not really very good, but you won a five pack for 1.00, or a ten pack for 3.00. Smoked almost all of them up. Also took with about 4 very good cigars for special occasions. Stopped at LCDH- their selection was not that great (I am used to the Thomas Hinds in Winnipeg, where if it is made in Havana, it is on the shelf), but I did enjoy a RyJ Edicion Limitada Robusto, a Partagas Serie D No 4 and a No 3 Edicion Limitada, and a Juan Lopez No 1 and No 2. Each of these was in its way an example of why I smoke cigars.
Ate everything that I was not supposed to and lived to tell about it. Had oysters on the half shell on the beach at Mismaloya, tequila shrimp at The Blue Shrimp, grilled steaks at a fiesta, steak tacos (nothing like what we call a taco) at a family restaurant in Centro, and too much other food to mention.
Anyway it was one of the best vacations ever, but I am still glad to be back.
