Actually, smoking (cigarettes and cigars) do have a gastrointestinal benefit especially if you over-ate or simply have some gastic upset.
Tobacco smoking increases you gastric emptying time and increases the bowel motility. Furthermore, digestive enzymes are enhanced during smoking. Hence, why many smokers claim they enjoy smoking after meals.
Your upset stomach felt better after the cigar because the food you ate was better digested and moved through your GI tract faster, simply put.
IMHO, the fuller bodied cigars have a more beneficial response after meals. Try having some of the more full bodied cigars after a heavy meal, e.g Don Carlos, PAM, or a Bucanero.
