All,

I just wanted to thank you for all of your prayers for my Mom. She is back at home after three nights in the hospital and seems to be doing all right considering the circumstances.

All of her tests came back negative and everything is all right with her heart, brain, etc. It seems that the reason she fainted/blacked out was dehydration. Unfortunately, she hit her head as she passed out and received a concussion. The concussion caused her vision to become blurry and messed up. For the most part the blurriness has cleared up, but most objects she sees there are two of them in the shape of an X. If she is looking at a picture on the wall she sees it tilted from top left to bottom right and then another picture intersecting with the first one going from top right to bottom left. They told her that this could last anywhere from 3-6 months, so she can't drive, play piano for church, etc. However; they do expect her vision to clear up with time. I think the not playing the piano will affect her the most as she has students and plays at church regularly.

If you could say another prayer for my entire family as we will now be taking care of Mom's housework, her errands, driving her places, etc. Just pray that this won't put undue pressure on us and we start "keeping score" of who did what and cause negative feelings amongst the brothers or sisters-in-laws. It will put more pressure on my other two brothers as they live a stones throw from Mom whereas I live out of state and she tends to lean on them more due to the distance.

If you could say a prayer for me as I have an interview this afternoon at 2:30 PM and another tomorrow over lunch. I have a feeling that one of these jobs will come thru.

Thanks for your prayers and thoughts!
Matt

Nice to hear everything is fine with your mom :) Good luck on the interviews. They would be stupid not to hire you :)

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

My family has been and still is in similar circumstances as I'm sure many are. Sometimes the bitterness over who's helping more is hard to quell. Just do what you can, you'll feel good about it later no matter who did or didn't do what. If someone else does more than you, show them your appreciation.

Hope your mom get's well soon.

This is wonderful news! Thank God! The vision issue is temporary...that is something that you can deal with! WHEW!

As for the prayers, they're sent...

Maybe you need to speak up to the family and let them know that even though you are some distance away, that you can still help in whatever way you can. They need to let you know how to help.

We all need to count our blessings!
