The bird people will like this story. It was posted on the Yahoo site, in the Milwaukee area section.

You've all heard of man's best friend, but what about bird's best friend?

Tango, an African parrot, escaped from her Colgate home last week.
She spent several cold nights lost, until spotting her friend Bodie the St. Bernard, walking along.

From up in a tree, Tango called out Bodie's name.

Their owner saw the bird, rescued her, and took her home to his wife.

"All of a sudden, I heard Tango say, 'What you doing?' I went running out. He (the husband) had found her (while) rollerblading up in the subdivision. So he had taken off his roller blades and ran back in his socks with her and Bodie," Angie Keckeisen said.

Angie Keckeisen said it was the best Mother's Day present she ever had.

an unclipped parrot is only going to get hurt. clip 6 or 7 flights on each side. if you don't know how, go to a vet.

or stop by, i'll clip the bird and we can have a cigar and chat.

I.ve never clipped any of my birds wings. They sit outside with me and don't go anywhere :) I think they're too scared to, except for one. She flies around the backyard yard to her favorite tree. She can sit out there for hours and doesn't try to leave. As soon as a snap my fingers, she flies right back to my hand. I told the vet about that and she said that she has never seen a female cockatiel be that well trained.

My Amazon "Polo" isnt clipped either. He can be trusted inside or out. The only reason he has his outdoor aviary is for his protection from cats or whatever.

Many times while outside, he will fly back into the house if the door is left open. Then he will go into his cage himself and relax. He likes us and his home I guess! :>)
