Fatshotbud, wer, jazzman, Dave? and I met Rocky today. What a nice guy, pleasant and generous. Good hooking up with ya'll, we'll have to do it again. I think fatshotbud got some photos. I like the new "Fire". I don't think the name describes the smoke, but it's a good cigar.

Great evening. It was really good to meet everybody and put some faces to names. As I guessed the cbid folks were a really terrific group of guys. Looking forward to future get togethers.

I agree with Barry regarding the Fire line. I expected a much more peppery/harsh cigar, but these were surprisingly enjoyable, especially considering the bargin pricing. I talked with Rocky quite a bit about the 1000+ boxes they pulled because of draw problems. I believe they've corrected previous quality issues. A really good guy and a top-notch organization dedicated to a high caliber product. I suspect we'll see him post more regularly after our showing. Chicago herfers get ready, he's headed up that way soon.

ps Yesterday, I did a side-by-side tasting of the IT super fuerte and the super fuerte 2nd sold here on CI/C-bid and could barely tell the difference. Rocky agrees that they are very comparable and the only difference is slight wrapper inconsistencies. In my limited experience, many seconds are better categorized as fifths, but these are a true exception of a bargin. Either way, the super fuerte is a very enjoyable cigar. I've got a full sampling of other IT products to devote my holiday weekend smoking attentions. Enjoy

Aside from my wife being miffed at me for coming back at nearly 10PM, it was a top-notch day (I was only gone about 6 ½ hours – LOL). May have been the arm-full of smokes I came home with?

The owner of Lone Star and Rocky were a bit surprised at the group of us meeting at the event. Bob (jazzman) brought his lovely wife and another of my friends (Ken Munnerlyn of Bayou smoke Co-op) showed with his father-in law. We were able to form an effective wall around Jackie and her serving island (those were some really fine single malts). I believe the Cbid presence was noticed (in a good way). Well, Barry and I may have scared some folks - LOL.

When everything broke up Bill (wer the party animal) and I continued a bit longer next door. A couple of Bass Ales with more smoke and good conversation. I feel we needed to do this as consolation due to the fact we were the only ones in our group not to win a door prize. One of the winners (not from Cbid) did bless us with one smoke each from his winnings. I think he did this because he felt we might have been stalking him – LOL.

Great fun with swell folks and plenty of smoke clouds. I hope to get the pictures done in a couple of days. Thanks to Rocky and Lone Star for having the event. And a special thanks to Mrs. Jazzman for being the group photographer.

There is another event scheduled for June 5th at Richmond Avenue Cigars in Houston. This one will be put on by La Flor Dominicana.

Keep the cutters sharp – BUD.

PS – thanks for the great gift smokes you guys. Look forward to doing it again!
