Is there any way that we can have a choice in the way our merchandise is shipped to us. During the hot summer months I hate to have my cigars sitting in a hot truck while in transit. I received a box of Perdomos the other day and they were very dry and 4 of the wrappers were cracked and disfigured. I would be willing to pay a little more for shipping it second day. Can we have a choice?

I very much agree! I live in Yuma, Arizona and it's already in the 100's! Imagine inside those trucks! and then they either put it in my tin mail box or on my doorstep in the hot sun. Please give us an option!

I have called CI about this many times, and finally made an arrangement to have my cigars shipped by US priority. It is not so much the heat, but somewhere along the line, UPS often beats the hell out of my boxes. I get books deliveries everyday and often I get damaged ones, and I avoid UPS now whenever possible. But everytime you win an auction remind them to send by US priority, I think they do automatically on five packs but not on boxes. The main reason they don't like to us the Post Office is that it isn't insured like UPS automatically does, but I told them I would take responsibility, in years of mail order around the globe I have never had a parcel lost, but CI even went a step further, showing me what a great company they are by footing the bill and paying for insurance on my deliveries. I think if you call them or email them, they will be quite understanding to your concerns.

It is UPS that beats the hell out of the boxes. I did some interdiction work looking for drugs one day at a UPS hub in Raleigh and those guys get their jollies from trying to damage the boxes they know have fragile merchandise. You would be surprised to see the torture a box takes from UPS! Stone Cold Steve Austin would do less damage to a box inside the ring than these guys.

I called UPS three times to complain about damaged boxes I was receiving, some times the box would be completely destroyed and they had to retape it, but everytime I called I got the runaround and was told there was nothing that could be done. So when they call me about opening an account to ship my outgoing boxes, I basically tell them to piss off. That union got its way with management and now I guess they feel they are untouchable. If I can't have things shipped to me by the post office I use RPS. I have felt bad for CI for too many times I had to call them in the past to report cigars damaged in transit. I about cried once when I received a box of Persomo X Maduros that was in shreds, what a waste of a beautiful box of cigars. So your story about your experience surprises me little.

Just send Cigar Bid an e-mail requesting your shipping preference. I have US Priority and they only messed up once. ALSO received a bad lighter from C-Bid they sent me a new one NO CHARGE. Excellent Job C-BID!
