Sorry fella's. Just a little excited to get the new 'dor up and filled. And its my first win on bids (ya ya, call me the newbie). Anyway, do you guys suggest aging any of these for a particular length of time? I figure I will smoke at least one of each to get a feel for them, and then let them rest.

Indian Tabac Maduro Teepee
Indian Tabac Anniversary Limited Reserve Bison
Te-Amo Magnifico Tubos Maduro (12)

Also, do you guys usually take them out of the tubes for sleeping?

In my opinion most any cigar that comes in a sealed tube is ready to smoke and the tube should remain closed until that time. I place the tubed smoke into the humidor unopened.
Te-Amo is a Mexican cigar (I have not tried)and my experience with cigars from this country is that they tend to be stout from the get go with a harsh/dry finish. I am not an expert on Mexican cigars by any means having limited my intake by choice (tactful?).
Again IMO try the first one or two and if they do not meet your satisfaction, remove from the tube for further (and more rapid)aging.
Butt then again, opinions are like A holes, everyone has one - BUD

Congrats on your first buy!
I always leave them in the tubes, but have no particular reason for doing so.
If your humidor is new, make sure you "season" it before trusting your cigars to rest in it. Sometimes it takes a little time for the box to get to the proper humidity. Check past postings on humidity to get the skinney from the experts.

Never tried the Te-amo or any of the Indian Tabacs... yet. Curious as to what you think about them.

Fatshotbud --- my experience has shown me that most 'tubed' cigars are usually on the dry side.

The tubes are mostly for presentation only ... and I will take them out of the tubes (or at least open them) before I let them rest awhile in the humidor.

I agree completely ...

(at least THIS post from Slimboli has the characteristics of something Slim might really write, unlike the overbidding thread someone who's managed to access the board using his name started this morning)

Agree with Slimboli and SteveS on the tubed cigars being on the dry side. I do not like Mexican cigars, but that doesn't mean that you should follow my opinion on this subject. They tend to be poorly made. The best of the bunch is the TeAmos.

Thanks for the posts guys. Another reason why I chose to make my presence known on THIS board as opposed to others.. (;

My 'dor is holding at about 60% right now, but I think a few sticks in there may help to regulate it (awefully empty)

auximage... I like the Te-Amo smokes but only the Aniversario H2000 line. The regular Te-Amo line is:

Country of Origin: Mexico
Flavor: Medium to Full
Wrapper: Mexico
Binder: Mexico
Filler: Mexico

Te-Amo Aniversario H2000

Country of Origin: Mexico
Flavor:
Wrapper: Habana 2000, Mexican Maduro
Binder: San Andreas Negro
Filler: Nicaraguan, Dominican & Mex Cuban Seed

Also, the Cabinet series is a little different:

Te-Amo Cabinet Selection

Country of Origin: Mexico
Flavor: Medium
Wrapper: Mexican Sumatra, Mexican H2000
Binder: Mexican H2000
Filler: Mexican, Brazilian, Dominican

So you can see that there is a difference and that makes a difference in the taste....69

I like Te-Amo occasionally for a change of pace. Really like most all of the Indian Tabacs because I like a full bodied cigar most of the time. I store mine in the tubes most of the time because being in the tubes makes it so easy to carry with you. Drop the tube in a coat pocket, briefcase, etc., you don't have to worry about crush or tatter.

A related question: I always have a problem feeling comfortable throwing the tube away when I take out the cigar. I realize it's already served its purpose, but it's a perfectly good tube! Know of any uses for it. I've taken out the cedar sheet most of the are lined with and used them in my cigar-finger cases, as well as partial lining for my Igloodors. I have also lined 5 to 25 cigar travel cases. Anyone else find any uses?

I agree on the 'fullness' of the Indian Tabac's. I've smoked one of each that I recieved. WOW.. They have a little kick to them. I think I will let the others sit for a while and come back to them.

I was a little disappointed with the Te Amo. While the burn and draw were great, the cigar itself was a little dry and rough on the pallet. The wrapper even came undone about half way through. /: I'll let the others sit for a while in the 'dor as well. Hopefully the wrappers will soak up a little moisture and the next one won't be as bad. I'll definately look into the others that you suggested!

Agree with Fubar69, the Aniversario are awsome. Full bodied and smooth. Still have one that I'll keep for a while. Wish I could find more, hmmm... maybe there is a way

arwings, I keep a couple of the tubes to line my 2 and 3 finger cases. That way I can store my cigars naked and still take them out in public. LOL Other than that, they make decent wind chimes.

I've had one of the Teamo vintage 99 aging, I'll let you know how it goes someday.

I take mine out of the tubes and let them breathe. Just seems wrong to keep agreat gar trapped like that. I have found some of them dry upon taking out but after a while in the old hummy they get back in shape. May just be a mind set I dunno. But I like my Gars to breathe
