I've managed to try one of these new R & J Maduros and thought I was smoking a cup of coffee. Delicious!! but pricey. Always seem to be bid up high on Cbid. Have you tried these and what are your thoughts? Would love to trade for some if you're interested.

Absolutely love them, IMO. I could smoke them every single day. Don't stock them yet, though, and you are right about the bidding price. Usually close to purchase price.
Does the db in dbguru stand for database? That's what I do.

Bought one at the local shop...did not make it to the humi at home...mmmmmm.....maddies....
Also sent one to Homebrew...and Hoagie...as part of there b-day packages (not the main part)...
You are correct though...auctions go for pretty much what you can pick them up for at the shop or CI...

OK, dbguru, I'll just sit down and shut up now that I've been humbled. :-)
Got a measley 12 Gb Sybase system for the Air Force to maintain training information via web interface.

Ditto the good comments on these. Very rich and flavorful. Nice flavor and mild/medium bodied strength. They will be a regular for awhile.

Mr.M:
Just goes to show you....to each his own. On the other hand, I have never tasted a charcoal briquet before so maybe I should sample one:-)

I gotta agree with the mean on this one. What a piece of crap. I smoked the churchill (normally my favorite size). Could not taste anything. Then the flavour came through, and could not wait for it to go out so that I could smoke something better (like rathair or urine smoked socks) to replace the horrible taste it left in my mouth. I will be bidding how much Cbid needs to send me to smoke one of these things.

Maybe there is two varieties out there. Like a crap shoot cigar. You got the shoot, I got the crap.
