This was #8 in a series of 10 mystery sticks from penguin13.

#8 also was about a 4.5x50 robusto. Light brown wrapper; good construction but kinda light in weight. Not much prelight aroma. Snipped and toasted the foot and put a torch to it. Lit up right away. Easy draw and mountains of smoke.

This one's on the low end of the medium body spectrum. Nice and woody flavor but a grassy aftertaste. Never built beyond medium but held its own. Medium gray ash that fell at about an inch.

If not for the grassy aftertaste, this one would have knocked the Don Douglas mixed-filler stick out of first place. On a scale of 1-10 penguins, #8 rates 6 penguins.

What is it?

I have about 45 of these sticks. If you want more let me know. They're decent everyday yard smokes (especialy when your mowing, you wont mind the grassy taste) I'm told that these had about two years of age on them when they were given to me. Now, I'm not going to tell yet, but.....

Hint: CI doesn't sell them, I haven't seen them on CB, but there are threads about them being sold on CI and CB from years ago.....

Here is a description I found:

"Sometimes a lesser known brand offers an excellent smoke, and this is one of those. A long Robusto at 5" X 50, this Dominican made cigar is very smooth and mild, with its Conn. shade wrapper, and flavors of sweet spices and a bit of leather on the palate, very similar to a Dominican Romeo Y Julieta. The ____ ______ series is a well-made and beautiful premium cigar with an ultra smooth Connecticut Shade wrapper, Dominican binder and Dominican Olor and Piloto Cubano long-filler, the flavor is medium-bodied, with a rich aroma and flavor. . Elegantly boxed and a joy to smoke." Size: Robusto (5" x 50)

(I had to laugh RYJ comment)

Any guesses now??

I recieved these from a very generous person here. He said that they were sitting in is humi for about 2 years. I did find this thread http://www.cigarbid.com/...eDisplay=0000000000718. I'm guessing given the date of the thread, these were from this batch. Good review Jd (and if you want anymore, let me know :)

I don't deserve too much praise, I did a google search based on a portion of your review quote, and then scanned the site...

P - I haven't had one, but I would guess that nobody would have figured it out!! That was an obscure brand to say the least!! I love this testing you're doing so I won't cheat anymore, I could tell the suspense was killing everyone though... :)

As an attempt to pass along Penguin13's incredible generosity I will send out 3 packages all with 1 Espinosa Gold, and some other smokes to the first three people to email me. No return package expected!

No thanks needed. Just repaying the favor.
