How many cigars per week, on average

Greetings folks - 44 year old guy here new to the cigar hobby - after 25 years of smoking cigarettes (yikes, that's a long time).

Question - how many cigars on average do you all smoke. I am thinking that no more than six a week would be a moderate amount. Am I in the right ball park?

Also, do any of you all smoke both cigarettes and cigars? I am still stuck at about four cigarettes a day - primarily in the morning and afternoon at work. Luckily, I typically only smoke a cigar in the evening.

Thanks,

Welcome jmvfrva. The question of how many are smoked was asked earlier in the following string.
http://www.cigarbid.com/...geDisplay=0000000010356

I have never smoked cigarettes and never would. Can't really stand the smell of them. I do about 2-4 cigars a day, though. My wife is starting to "try" them out once in a while because she is so curious about what it is I like so much.

Anywhere from one to eight. So the average is around twenty-eight per week. CBid favorite customer.

6 to 8 a week, heaviest on the weekends. Less in the winter, more in the summer. You can count how many cigarettes I've smoked in 43 years on one hand and have fingers left over. No comparison between the two. Cigars are to tobacco what wine is to grapes. Welcome to club!

welcome to the crew.

I smoke a moderate amount. My norm is 5-7 a week. This last week was heavier. 2-3 a day, mostly because the wife was out of town so my honey-do's decreased.

I smoked cigarettes, weaned myself off them with Skoal. I a am weaning myself off that with cigars. I will probably wean myself off cigars with heroin.

I have never smoked cigs :)

I am up to about 3-4 a week depending on whats going on. It can be up to 6-8 if I go out. But my amount is going to drop off since I have found some work for now :)

Welcome to the group.

I'm usually good for 2-4 per week. More during summer. I allow the time and enjoy each cigar to the fullest...

Smoke 'em if you got 'em and if you stick around here long you'll certainly start to acquire quite an inventory. Welcome aboard.

I'm somewhere between 10-14/week.

I would guess maybe 10 - 15. Mornings with coffee and evenings with a single malt and maybe a couple of times a week at the very nice cigar lounge at Ruth's Chris steakhouse across the street from my office. Other than that I only smoke outside so the number varies with the weather.

I used to enjoy 1-2 isoms per week for a few years. Started buying from C-bid 2 years ago, when I started smoking a couple of C-bid smokes per week and a couple of isoms on the weekend. Now that the price of isoms have doubled in Edmonton, I smoke 3-6 C-bid smokes per week and lucky if I have a cheap $26 isom once per month. Can't wait to visit the Island and stock up, 2 boxes for me and 2 boxes for my wife = 4 boxes for me.

Probably 15-20 a week. One a day on the ride home from work, then several per weekend day when I play golf. Also depends on the size of the cigars. Probably one churchill = two coronas.

Usually about 5-7 per week and 2 more for golf. However, I just had surgery on my foot and have to keep it elevated so what to do? Sit on the patio and try some of the fine sticks these folks have sent me in trades. Yesterday was 6 and 3 so far this morning.

12-15 a week, and with the weather what it is in southern California, it's pretty much a year-round pasttime. Cigars help me make time everyday to get some reading done.

For all the 6-7 cigar a day smokers. Where do you find the time? Self employed? Unemployed? Non smoke free work place? Bartender?

I just wonder. I'm in a car all day. Can't smoke in state property. I still manage a cigar on a smoke lunch, instead of food. But that's about it.

Probably 15-20 weekly. Yes, I still smoke cigarettes but don't really want to. Smoke-free work environment, ya know. Can't really step outside and puff on a cigar 5-10 minutes, then go back in. Smoked a pipe for many years. Stopped for the same reason. Am sure I would smoke many more if I could light up any time I wanted to. Maybe a smoke-free environment isn't a totally bad thing after all......

Usually 2 per weekday and 3-4 per weekend day. I smoke cigs during the day and take the time to enjoy My cigars in the PM. A number of years ago I quit the cigs in favor of cigars only but found Myself smoking 6-7 a day. In My pre-CBid days ( and when cigs were cheaper) 150 cigars a month was way to expensive so I went back to cigarettes. That, and most public or social settings I find Myself in accept cigarettes but not cigars.

Everyday Cigars: Everday of course ....

Premies: Every other day .... but of course ...

BTW: What do legit Cuban Cohibas go for in trades these days? I'm just not that impressed with them ... tried them when I first got them, then aged them, then tried them again ... just doesn't do it for me ....

LMAO Rick

25-30 per week, maybe more on weekends. Alot depends on how large the stick is.

I usually piggy-back them.(a cigar smokers chain smoke)
I lite my next one with the last inch of the one I'm smoking.

I wouldn't want to only smoke 1 a day or WEEK!!!!
I would be lost.

All you guys that are occasional smokers must have nice white teeth.

Finishing my fifth today.

5-7/week. My true vice is booze. I'm trying to steadily swap to cigars but I'm finding the two go together too well. I guess I'm screwed. I just may end up like some of you.........

AAAAAAAAAAmen!

As the Simpson's when the "Germans" took over the power plant and tried to clean it up.......

"Are there any alcoholics among us?" (German accent)

"Uh, me."

"Over here."

"Uh, I'm drunk right now."

Been smoking cigars for 10 years never touch a cig and never will. I tried inhaling once and thought my lungs were on fire. I just started the "good" gars about 3 years ago. As far as how many a week it depends on the mood I'm in and the mood the wife is in LOL. Usually 1 or 2 a day except on days that end in y then I have a couple more to break even :-)

1 per weekday, 1-2 on weekends. Less in the winter. In addition to my day job, I'm a semi professional singer in my spare time so I generally take a 4-5 day break from cigars prior to concerts.

Averages 20 cigars weekly year round - a little more now that the little white ball is getting chased up and down the fairways.

Just did a quick recap of the last week and put a price on each one. About $61.25 up in smoke but it was GOOD! Like Everet Dirkson once said: A billion hear and a billion there, pretty soon we are talking real money!"
