Picked up 3 Mayorga Gorditos at a local shop this evening. After purchasing them I realized that they had stickered each one with a number (evidently to identify them on their price list since the help doesn't know squat about cigars). Because Mayorgas are not cello wrapped they put the sticker right directly on the cigar instead of the label. When I went to peel the stickers off part of the wrapper came off with them. Almost as if they had allowed them to dry out a little. Obviously the store help have no common sense in addition to not knowing anything about cigars. Why do I ever stray from Cbid???? Man, what a fool I am! LOL!

Wow, what morons. They'll take them back I hope. I like to buy from local merchants. Otherwise, they'll go out of business! It's nice to try one stick here and there. And you can pick them up, smell them, light one up and chat with folks. Sorry to hear about your experience, but don't give up on retails. They have their place.

I'm the same way... I will buy a few sticks from a couple of local shops. This particular shop is tucked into a liquor store. Their main shop, also in a liquor store on the other side of town, has a great humidor with an excellent selection and knowledgable staff. They use this one just to carry a few sticks. Since the sticks only cost me a couple of bucks each I'll just go ahead and smoke them they way they are and chalk it up to one of life's lessons learned.

Oh by the way... my first Mayorgas... great little smokes... will probably have to buy a box on Cbid one of these days.
