OK so I know this is a cigar forum but (sorry ladies) generally a male dominated forum and I thought that these rules were pertinent.

We always hear "the rules" from the female side. Now here are the
rules from the male side. Please note:

# 1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.

# 2. Sometimes we are not thinking about you. Live with it.

# 3. Sunday = sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be.

# 4. Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we are never going to think of it that way.

# 5. Crying is blackmail.

# 6. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it! We'll get it for you, but just LET US KNOW WHAT YOU WANT!!!

# 7. We don't remember dates. Mark birthdays and anniversaries on the calendar. Remind us frequently beforehand.

# 8. Most guys own three pairs of shoes. What makes you think we'd be any good at choosing which pair, out of thirty, would look good with your dress?

9. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question. Please pick one.

#10 . Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

# 11. A headache that lasts for seventeen months is a problem. See a doctor.

# 12. Let us know about that funny noise in your car engine as soon as you hear it.

# 13. Anything we said six months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become null and void after seven days.

# 14. If you won't dress like the Victoria's Secret girls, don't expect us to act like soap opera guys.

# 15. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us. We refuse to answer, but still love you.

# 16. If something we said can be interpreted two ways, and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.

# 17. Whenever possible, please say whatever you have to say during commercials.
# 18. Christopher Columbus did not need directions, and neither do we.

# 19. The relationship is never going to be like it was the first two months we were going out. Get over it. And quit whining to your girlfriends.

# 20. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings. Peach, for example, is a fruit, not a color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what Mauve is.

# 21. If it itches, it will be scratched. We do that.

# 22. We are not mind readers and we never will be. Our lack of mind-reading ability is not proof of how little we care about you.

# 23. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," we will act like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.

# 24. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an answer you don't want to hear.

# 25. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine. Really, you look fine!!!

# 26. It is neither in your best interest or ours to take the quiz together. No, it doesn't matter which quiz.

# 27. Football is as exciting for us as handbags are for you.

# 28. I AM in shape. ROUND is a shape

# 29. I know you can’t stand scotch or bourbon. Alcoholic beverages don’t always need to be sweet. Its an acquired taste

# 30. So you think my cigars stink. I like the way they stink. There are parts of you that stink too and I love it!!! Again it’s an acquired taste. (well, on second thought maybe the cigars are an acquired taste but you and yours seem to be great from the start!!) .

Thank you for reading this. Did you know we really don't mind sleeping on the couch, it's like camping...

Marla as in Echick?... She thinks I'm a dirty old man from a cold damp climate....One post she started talking about her sweaterdor, and I had just noticed a picture she posted of herself with several cigars sticking out of her sweater. Not previously knowing what a sweaterdor was (we don't need to protect our wool from moths in the frozen tundra of Seattle as much as they do in San Diego), I inquired about the picture (I guess in a mildly suggestive way), which I guess pissed her off. Had to tell me about her husband etc. etc.

Oh well, Marla if you read this, I'm sure you're mature enough to not be too offended by this (since you already know most of us guys truly feel more than 90% of what's on this list) Oh and by the way, Marla, I'm a pretty normal married successful guy who makes great money running big databases for a living (hence the DBguru name), has children too, sings semi-professionally and drives a Lexus. Lets be friends ok??

Do you have to drive a Lexus to be happy?

Wow, nice bragging. I think we're all
impressed now. GEEZ

By the way, most of the items
on that list is a bunch of B.S.

My wife doesn't have to tell me
what she wants.

Just bought one, Octo... I'm happy.
C'mon lighten up a bit. There is tons of gender directed humor out there. Women hake jokes at men's expense and visa versa. As far as me bragging, well I don't really care what you think about that cause I don't know you from Adam. DB

bigons

The toilet humor is great,
but you did come off a little
cocky! You have to at least
agree a little.

Congrats on the car!

OK Octo I agree a little .... You don't know the bragging I was responding to. I'm not normally that way. Just a hard working guy who started with nothing 25 years ago and now can occassionally let a bit of pride in my success slip out too much. Hey without that , I wouldn't be able to enjoy the better things in life, like a good cigar!!!

Octo, I'll bet you wish your lady paid attention to at least some of those rules!! and I'm sure she just loves it when Rita Rudner or Elayne Boozler rank on men?? It's pretty funny stuff too even when its at our expense. OK, so do you have anything to add to the list??

Your Cbis Pal,
DB

I agree, great list! In your perfect world...

I have seen it before (Jimmy?)...it doesn't offend me, it's a male wish list. Why should it bother me? I'm not picking a fight or being pissy about it.

And I posted this on another thread to DBGURU:

Dude!?

DBGURU man...I wasn't pissed off by this...I'm sorry if you took it that way!!! Sheesh!

I was being silly with all of the "I'm into..." stuff...I was just waiting for someone else to jump in before me and chastise you. That's why I posted that...

It's all good baby!

Peace E-chick.... Reading "Between the Lines" is much more dangerous than smoking one, Don'tcha think??? (Ever try one of those Hemi's??) No hard feelings. Thanks for setting me straight on what a sweaterdor is. I'll be down in S.D. in December with my family just after Xmas...perhaps you and your cigar buddies down there will have something on the calendar at that time.

From Seattle, keeping chilled,
