I had accumulated a few of the GOLs and stashed them for awhile. I recently decided to try one. They looked SO good. Heavy, perfect construction, shiny and dark. It lit up easily and had an excellent draw. But wow, very harsh flavor. I was mortified, but stuck it out. I'm glad I did, after the first 1/8 inch or so, it did a complete turnaround. It got extremely smooth and exhibited that consistency of smoke that you only get from very high quality cigars. I have to admit though that the flavor didn't really grab me. It was also just too powerful for me to be enjoyable. I finished it but didn't nub it. The flavor just didn't warrant the struggle (everytime I think I'm a pro, a gar like this comes around and humbles me. I'm almost afraid to look at the antano I've got sitting). I plan on doing what everyone seems to wish they could do and let them age. If time doesn't bring them around for me, I'll make someones day and trade out some well aged Brazilias.
