Bought the pay-per-view. Musta watched that thing about 5 times, even recorded it. Damn good. If you're a fan of animated movies like Heavy Metal and dig The Matrix...this is a MUST SEE! The Wachowski brothers have some of the "catchiest" moves going right now.

On that note, I also finished a great book called "Philosophy and The Matrix". Deals with a lot of issues that the average movie goer or thinker wouldn't pick up on. It offers a Western/Eastern philosophy slant and religious(not just Christian)themes that The Wachowski brothers intended, but cleverly hid in the "plot" of their masterpiece.

I showed a couple of clips from this tonight in my class and we talked about ethics and artificial intelligence. If you create a robot that can think and feel, does it have rights? Or, because it is artificially created, does it not have rights to its own life and thoughts?

The Animatrix raises some pretty interesting and fun questions. Plus, it is cool to watch.

Dude...we agree on something!

Expecting apocalypse...

Thanks for the review guys, couldn't find one and didn't know what it was about. I'll watch and tape it next time it comes on PPV, sounds like my kind of movie. JonR

"If you create a robot that can think and feel" Not possible. By definition, it's a program...

Yo Robby: That's true but aren't we as humans programed, don't we as individuals know when it's our specific time to eat, drink, sleep, etc. Can't our brains be upgraded to a higher level as one would upgrade a computer. Our claim to being human is that we have a soul but no one can submit subtantial proof of that. Wouldn't it piss a lot of people off that upon their death they found out they were androids. Android: noun - a mobile robot usually with human form.

Robby...check out an author, Karel Capek. Note the years that he was writing and the material he covered. Jules Vernesque type stuff. Way ahead of his time.

The snippet from the Animatrix details how man created robots in their own image. Later they gave them the ability to think and feel independently. Check it out. You'll like it.
