I was surprised late Saturday evening by a phone call from my nephew Steven who's in the army. He was calling from Mosul in northern Iraq. He called to let me know he got the care packages that I sent. It was really good hearing from him.
He said they're living in or around one of the power plants. I sent him two boxes of miscellaneous stuff but included a bunch of cigars. I also included a couple of disposable cameras so hopefully he'll send me some pictures when he gets back (probably around the end of the year). He was suppose to separate from the army this summer but was extended.
