Noticed that too - but it has not affected everything. I won a box of 25 Hoja de Nicas for $22.

I think it is all Bud's fault.

Damn, the boxes of Padrons are shot out way over retail, and evan the 1066 Dark Kights are slightly over. I guess its helping to tame my ODO.

Yeah, it's getting tough. I took a month off from bidding but I was always watching. I'm in for this Thursday's delivery and I've lost quite a few to overbidders. I thought maybe after Father's Day, things might calm down a little. Doesn't seem that way.

Why are you persecuting me? Do you take some kind of perverse delight in kicking a dog when it is already down? I swear I can't help myself!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems bidding has been higher overall ever since "those other guys" shut down their bulletin board. I'm not sure why it would happen that way.

We did add a few more posters to the forum, but if they moved over here, it seems these folks had to already know about Cbid. Maybe we got a lot more "new blood", who haven't yet learned good bidding tactics and/or restraint. (I HAVE TO learned restraint!)

Anyway, over bidders are good because I don't feel guilty about all the cigars a practically steal from the auction. I do wish, just once, I could get some Hemingways for a decent price. LOL!

As always, I extend a warm welcome to newbies and all lovers of the leaf. My advice to new bidders is the same as new black jack players. Learn just a few simple rules and the game will be more enjoyable for you as well as the other knowledgeable players around you.

Keep smokin' (]]]]]]]]]]]~~~

I have been around these parts for a long time. Longer than I care to remember and here is what I have learned.

I set my own limit and put that in "Early" on the smokes that I really "Want". I don't get upset if someone choses to pay more than I am willing to pay for the smokes. I realize that there will always be another day and a better deal. Patience is the key.

Just My 2 Cents!

Regards,

B

Despite periodically moaning privately about some of the bids and bidders, I have managed to buy way more cigars than I should have. So I say God Bless the people who outbid me!

The "cherry picking" has gotten tougher but at least my spending has gone down by about 50% per month....and I'm still buying more cigars than I can herf. Capitolism rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
