you guys who own espresso machines, could you give me reviews of your machines and recommendations. I want to get one for my wife for our anniversary. I'd like to spend less than $1000. Thanks

Danny --- this site is really good for choices and great reviews --- http://www.wholelattelove.com/

Capresso is one that I've heard a lot of good things about on a similar thread at another fourm ... and they are on sale!

The Pasquini Livia 90 Semiautomatic Light Commercial Espresso & Cappuccino Machine is a good one ... I hear.

Hey ... are you rocket15? I see a similar tread over on 'that other' forum ... and his name is Danny too ... LOL!

Danny - I don't currently own an espresso machine, but I'm also in the market and the one I want to buy is the Solis SL90. Great machine about the same cost as the Saeco when you add a separate grinder. I'm a big fan of having the filter basket instead of the automated dose, in my opinion it allows for more barista artistry. For me the less automation the better when it comes to good coffee.

Slim was right on www.wholelattelove.com, great site and great prices!!

considering the Expobar Office semi-commercial machine. E61 type brew group, heat exchanger. Anybody have one of these and can give a review?

Gawd....I guess I hang with the wrong crowd. I must be one of the poor relations here among the coffee nuts.

I have a Krups. Real basic espresso/steamer. It makes espresso as well as any espresso I have ever tried. Ground beans go in, steming water passes through and comes out into the little pot.

If I want Cappucino..the little steamer thing froths the milk as good as any coffee shop I have ever been to.

The only thing I have ever found that makes a difference in espresso and espresso drinks, is the brand and grind of the coffee.

Probably ran me $29 ten years ago. Sorry, but I sort of have better things to dump "Less than $1000" on.
Like....cigars.

Remember when 7-11 and Dunkin Donuts coffees were the special ones? Sheesh, I'm old.
