I see the advertisement in the magazine every year and have always wondered if it was worth the $175 ticket.

... only worth it, if you've got that kind of money to throw away ...

I live in Las Vegas, but I have never attended one. If anyone would like to pay for my ticket, I'll go and give them a full report on how it was... plus all the cigars that they give out.

I have been to 4 of them. Not for a long time though. I went in 95,96,97 and 98 and back then it was 150.00 for the one night. Was it worth it? Yes. The food and drink alone seem to cover the price nicely....:)

As for the cigars? Every year you got a bit less. First year I went I must have gotten 75 cigars. The next year less and the final year only about 35 or so.

I enjoyed everyone of them but I handled it as a night out WITH dinner and drinks and cigars. Well worth the 150 price.

My brother and I finally decided that we would pool the 150 each and buy a couple of boxes of cigars we KNEW we liked and went to Vegas anyway...:)

Your milage may vary.

I went a couple years ago and decided against going in.I just partied with a couple of freinds at Napoleans.Although 4 or 5 of the people I was with managed to mooch extra tickets from people for $75,you could always go that route. ;0)

For $75 it may be worth it, $175 eh? The cigars they were handing out were nothing to write home about and my buds said it was crowded as hell trying to get your smokes.YMMV

Gotta give it a thumbs down also. The food and drink were excellent, but the smokes weren't worth the cost. The other thing that sucks is that you can't bring a guest for less than full price. The girlfriend loves the smell and the atmosphere, but doesn't smoke. Who needs twice as many marginal smokes?! You'd think CA would get a clue and offer a reduced food and drink price for guests and those who don't favor acquiring the stogies.

Rico11 --- why do you say, 'marginal smokes?'

These 'Big Smokes' are mainly held to promote all the new lines of cigars that the vendors who participate have come out with ...

... they may not be worth the cost of the ticket, but I would hardly call them marginal (well, maybe a few of them ... LOL!).

But IMHO (and never having attended, only heard from many who have) ... these things are nothing more than a 'cattle call' as you are 'herded' from one vendor to the next ...
