I am a cigar smoker of about 8 years. Mostly I been out in search of the best smoke for $2-3. When I met and started dating my wife she had a 6 month old daughter, and was pregnant with a son. We are now married 3 years and Chloe is 7, and Christian is 6. I love them both. But we recently decided that before it's too late to have one between us. She is now about a month into her pregnancy. My question is: The cigar I smoke after "my" baby is born is going to be one I always remember, so what should it be? I need to have it all figured out by March 4th. Thanks

Ditto on what xibbumbero said ...

... only you can be the judge of what is the best cigar to smoke on that special day.

For every one who posts giving you a suggestion, it will be their favorite cigar ... and you will get a different cigar suggestion for every post.

Congratulations!

Recommendations - Hmmmmm, Domestic - PAM, Opus X, or VSG. Havana - Psd 4, Monte 2, or H Upmann 2.

These are all medium priced.

Regards,

Congratulations! As to the cigar, looks like you have a lot of experimenting to do between now and March 4th.

The key word that X used was "afford". Do it now before the baby arrives and you're broke for ever LOL.

Like Slim said, everyone's got their favorite, find what's yours and smoke it.

Congradulations,

Barry

Thanks to those that replied. Basically, I was just looking for a starting spot for finding "the" cigar. What I failed to mention was that money really doesn't matter for this special cigar and that any suggestions (even though they are others favorites) are appreciated.

With cost not being an issue then I would have to agree with smithbw's list. All are top of the line good celebratory cigars. The main thing to try and achieve is to make the moment as memorable as possible.

PAMs are my personal favorites. One, because I really like them and two, they are usually more readily available than the others. If you have never experienced a fine Cuban cigar then maybe that's the special one for you. Good luck and let us know what you go with.

I'd go with an island smoke... either a monte #2 (if a girl) or a RJ Churchill (if a boy).

Go all out. Smoke something you wouldn't smoke in a hundred years. Make a huge deal over the fact that you finally have a real child all your own. Be sure the other kids pick up on that fact, too. Good Luck.

P.S. Fertilizing an egg doesn't make you a true father. Just my opinion.

Sounds like you're already a true father. Congrats on the upcoming. I'm saving a ISOM cohiba, not sure which one it is but it is 7x47, which was gifted to me from one of her coworkers. Due date mid Nov. :^)

That my friend would be a Esplendidos. Good or "Very Bad" cigar it is well known that the Cohiba line is not a consistent one. This is your choice so do what your heart tells you to do!

Congratulations big guy.
I rarely recommend cigars and the reason is stated above. Good luck to you in your quest.

Rephil: You already are a "true" father. For your other two children, your wife, and you, too...try not to make too much out of the birth of this child. Your son and daughter will, in short order, perceive that this child means more to you than they do. Don't let this happen. It can be devastating to some children and to a marriage.

My extended family is made up of many blended families and adoptees. We learned long ago that most anyone can procreate. It takes loving parents to raise children.

Congratulations to your son, daughter, wife, and you.
