I just wanted to let you know, Mr. Ambassador, that I stopped in and paid a visit to your 'account' in Walnut Creek yesterday.
He has a nice display of Bucanero cigars, and I ended up picking up a couple of 'Fuente Chateau Sun Grown', a ''Joya De Nicaragua Antano' (torpedo size) and a Hemingway Short Story ($6.99 YIKES!) ...
The owner is a very personable guy, and we talked for awhile about the new Bucanero lines coming out ... so I decided to give him a 'Z' ... which he immediately fired up. In turn, he gave me a La Aroma De Cuba Robusto.
We had a very enjoyable time herfing and talking cigars (I've only had one of the La Aroma's previous to this one) ...
He told me he really likes most of the Bucanero Cigars, although he mentioned that the Full Sail was not to his liking, but didn't say why. He said that he enjoys a full-bodied cigar, that is strong, but smooth, with no harshness. So maybe, the one or more he had tried, were a little to harsh for his tastes ... but who knows?
He was very pleased with the smoothness of the 'Z', but thought it was a little mild and spicy the first quarter of the cigar. I told him just to hold on, and let it develop ...
Well, about half way through ... he commented that the flavor picked up substantially, but it still kept it's smoothness, but had developed a real punch ... and he likened it to a freight train that had just left the station. He said it started out slow ... but as it picked up speed ... it started barreling down the tracks at full steam.
He said he was impressed, and that it was a very good cigar ... and when his stock gets a little lower, he was going to pick up a box or two. I told him to also try the 'Salsa' ... if he likes a full-bodied' cigar ... ;^)
We know the 'Salsa' is going to have the punch ... but let's hope it stays smooth to the end ...
