Wow! The more I read the board the harder it is for me to figure out which board I am reading! Trades are posted under cigar related and misc stuff is posted under cigar and related. Come on Slim get back in the game! =)

I've HAVE been 'slapping' softly ... here and there.

What I'm hoping, is that these folks (and those who read them) will get a 'clue' ...

And I'm glad I'm not the only one who has noticed.

It's starting to look like a potpourri around here lately ... and the boards are melding into one big hodgepodge.

There IS a reason that Gonz created the FOUR differrent boards for us to use ... so let's use them the way they were intended.

What cracks me up ... is those who post the same thing on several boards, like the intended recipient is going to be blind to it on one, but will see it on another ...

I think maybe not everybody checks all of the boards all of the time, especially the trades. Doesn't excuse it, but maybe explains it.

Okay Slim - since you said - softly! =)

I don't understand it either. There are reasons for the division of the boards and the rules are not being followed. Hmmmm!

swithbw,
I think you were not around when Slim said he would stop slapping people. I forgot what the controversy was, but Slim retired his authoritative duties. I wish Slim would take up his job again as the "Lord of Discipline" and start wacking away. How about it Slim?

I remember my first Slim Slap. ... It was the summer of '82... I was a carefree reckless youth who didn't give a d@mn about the "rules" of the "institution" - I thought the "Man" was always trying to keep me down... then Slim came along and got me back in line... ..now I look back at my youthful naivety and wonder where I would be if it wasn't for ol' Slim....

I'm just topping this thread ... because it seems that there are still those who don't have a clue as to where to post certain topics.

Come on people ... we have four different areas to voice our thoughts, and why there are some who just can't seem to figure that out, is beyond me.

I enjoy reading the threads ... but please ... don't clutter up the wrong forums with thoughs that are better suited on a different board. I'm not the only one who dislikes searching through all the extra fluff, just to find the ones with info on cigars and related stuff.

Heck ... if you look at the top half of 'Cigars & Related', you will find at least 5 or 6 threads that should have been posted at either the 'Trades' board or the 'Miscellaneous' Board. A couple of them aren't even cigar related ...

Is it really that hard for some people to figure that out?

There is one cigar forum that I frequent, that the moderator will move misplaced threads to the proper forum, if they don't belong where they are posted.

I've got to the point that I either won't read, or I just won't respond ... to any threads that are posted on the wrong forums.

Good to have you back Slim!

Now get out there and set 'em straight before the entire site ends up cluttered with BS.

Slim, you said:

"I've got to the point that I either won't read, or I just won't respond ... to any threads that are posted on the wrong forums"

Does that mean that this is your FINAL SLAP ??? Say it's not so... Just when you were coming out of retirement... Don't hang up the LOD outfit yet !!

What will happen now? Will people run with scissors, tip back on their chair and drink milk from the carton ?!?!?!

What will become of us???

LOL @ Lowman ...

I just find it odd, that some people are so worried that their message won't be read on the board intended for their threads ... that they have to post it out of context, I'm guessing, so it will stand out ...

It's just annoying to me, and apparently others too, to have to wade through threads that are thanking someone for a trade, gift or bomb ... wanting someone to contact them ... who's CS stinks ... Birthday Club inquires, etc. on the board that is intended to discuss cigars.

In the beginning ... we didn't have a 'Miscellaneous' board, and it was a real mess ... don't any of you 'old-timers' remember? It got so bad at one point, Gonze created the 'Miscellaneous' board to give folks a place to post all this extra chatter ... and to keep the 'Cigars $ Related' board focused on those who wanted to discuss cigars, ask for info, give reviews, and talk about all the other stuff related to cigars and cigar smoking.

With all the new folks that we have here now, I'd just hate to see it go back to that 'hodge-podge' just because people are either too lazy, they just don't care, or simply can't figure out how to use these boards.
