Odai, Qusai die in strike in Mosul, commander says

July 22 — Saddam Hussein’s fugitive sons Odai and Qusai were killed Tuesday during a raid on a mansion in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, the commander of allied forces in Iraq said. Gunfire and explosions erupted in Baghdad as Iraqis celebrated the news.

Army Lt. General Ricardo Sanchez, the commander of allied military operations in Iraq, said at a news conference Tuesday night in Baghdad that four Iraqis were killed in a fierce six-hour gunbattle that broke out when U.S. troops arrived to search the house, which reportedly belonged to a cousin of Saddam.
Without saying how, Sanchez said “multiple sources” had confirmed that the brothers were among the four dead people.
U.S. officials told NBC News separately on condition of anonymity that senior Iraqi figures in U.S. custody had positively identified the brothers after their bodies were taken to Baghdad. Old bullet wounds further cemented the identification of Odai Hussein, who was shot 17 times and badly wounded in an assassination attempt in 1996.

Indeed. I have a friend who lurks on the democratic underground website. He sent me some links and it's UNBELIEVABLE the effrontery of some of those left wing "Waco’s" they were going on about how it was a ploy, there was no proof, it probably wasn't them, and if it was, they were killed weeks or months ago and we waited until now for political purposes to make it known. It's almost as if, no that's not true, it IS as if THEY WANT US TO FAIL! Because they don't want Bush to experience ANY victories. And they would see their own sons and daughters die for naught in advancement of their radical liberal agenda. It disgusted me. The news that those scum bags were taken out delighted me though! Way to go US Military!!

Too bad Bagdad Bob isn't still on TV to claim, "All lies, they are alive and well in Barbados at a resort"! or something like that,

The "resort" they are vacationing at is called Hell, and no two deserve to be there anymore than these rats!

I can only add that I hope Saddam is alive and well right now ...

... and that he is able to experience the full impact of what went down yesterday.

You see, I've got adult sons in their 30s ... I know how it affects me to see them do well, to seem them accomplish goals, to see the adults they've become ... and I know how it affects me when things go wrong, when they catch a tough break ...

So I hope that son of a b*tch is alive and well and that he has been hit with the full impact of losing his sons ... given the torture he's put so many people through, he's earned it ...
