Does anyone have any comments on the current version the Havana Sunrise cigars being offered here? They are supposed to be back to their original taste and construction since the original owner bought the company back.

The "original" Havana Sunrise which was made in Miami was a terrific cigar. No joking. Since that time, much has been written about their demise once production left for an island country. I think the smokes that CB is offering is supposed to be the true originals, not just the "original recipe". They must be about 3 years old or more if my math is correct. If it is the original, and the construction is good (some I've had were tight), then it is a great smoke. My favorites in this brand are the torpedos.

Just received a five pack today of the Havana Sunrise and they had beetles. Seemed like old damage, but you can see damage right thru the cello. Gonna have to send the entire pack back, as the whole bunch may be infected. But they used to be a good smoke, before they changed.

A rather nasty tasting cigar IMHO......sorry for the negative feedback.

I won a box of these and was very surprised that they came unbanded, contrary to the picture shown. They also fit rather loosly in the box. The cigars tasted very grassy but I am hoping that some age (allot of age actually....probably the youngest cigar I have ever smoked) they will mellow out.

The ones I have smoked had a great taiste, slite hint of cedar. (I like that) construction and draw were good as well. I loved this brand. maybe I just got lucky. At least it sounds that way. I will buy more and more, until I get some like described here.

They were unbanded because they were seconds.
