Rick, you are one brave soul to spend two weeks in Vegas and to plan on gambling for that entire time---wow! Good luck and good smoking, and at least you won't have the "smoke police" to worry about. What are the cigars you are going to give to the people who ask you for one, or who never seem to have one and are too damn cheap to walk into the humidor and buy a few? Charlie

bohio $19. box of 25, fuego del rey $16.00 box of 20, wall street coronas $13.00 box of 25.00 leyenda pantela, large $5.00 box of 10. in vegas, a cheap cigar, even at the local stores, would be a fuente curley head for $4.50. the best prices for cigars, strangly enough, is at dunhills in the ceasars forum. a montecristo double corona would go for $9.00. their prices are consistant with any local shop in any town where there is some competition. the indian reservation sells a carton of cigarettes, my wife smokes these, tax free and are about $12.00 a carton for off brands and $18.00 for standard brands. go to vegas, see the new hotels they are always building for me, play quarter machines, go to the movies, visit the animal rescue sanctuary, bet $10.00 on the lakers, but gambling, not if you want to have fun. the vig, house odds, is against the player. true odds on the line for #6 or #8 is 6 to 5. they pay 7 for 6. #4 and #10 true odds are 2 to 1, they pay 9 for 10. roulette, the hold is at least 3%. if you count at blackjack and change your bets inconsistantly, you will be tapped on the shoulder and offered a drink at the bar and asked to visit some other casino. that is after you have been secretely photographed and your picture distributed. but, you can rent a one bedroom furnished apartment for $250.00 a week. food is so cheap, that a lot of elderly people i know, have lived there for years, and never cook a meal at home. if you know the town, there is a breafast buffet at the santa fe for $1.00 that is as good as any other hotel charging $4.00. or you can go to the bellagio and pay $9.00 for a short stack.

Re craps, I think you do mean when you 'place' the 6 or 8 you're getting ripped off at 7-6 odds. Should never make place bets unless the table is scorching. Much smarter to back up your even money line/come bets with the max free odds, which do pay correctly (6-5 on 6 and 8, 2-1 on 4 and 10, etc).

You've got the same attitude as me. Don't give your money away, take advantage of all the comps, and make a small sports bet for fun. Have a good time, unfortunately you could have got better odds on the Lakers a few weeks ago.
