We're refinancing and need several thou in liquid assets next month, so the boss has had me on a buying hiatus for the month of July and most of next month... I'm JONSIN to bid!! I put in some low bids just for the fix, but haven't won anything.
I'm planning my bidding/buying cotillion... The problem is, decisions! decisions!!
Have you ever had a list, a long list of things you wanted? And noodled over it, back and fourth? Trying to decide the perfect combination of cigars to treat yourself with? It's maddening!
Then there’s the prospect of an overbid, i.e., if you wait a long time, and then dive in, you’re liable to shoot your wad prematurely so to speak… Don’t want that to happen! Also don’t want to get carried away, i.e., “Weeeeeee! Syndrome”, like hog did last month! There’s the penultimate joy of the moment of the bid/win, followed by the ultimate joy of receipt/opening/smoking, followed by excoriation from the boss, which may outweigh the sheer joy of the purchase… So I’ll need to exercise;
1. Planning and deliberation.
2. Patience
3. Self Control
I don’t know if I’m up to it.
