RL of Porterville, CA $67.00 1 of 1 Jul 29, 12:31 AM EST "bye RP, they are mine" + $5.95 S&H

Yes they are all your's, with a retail of $77.50 + $6.00 S&H from somewhere else, you didn't save much!
that is of course if you don't get bumped to $70 or $73

so, RL saved $10.50 ?? ... that doesn't sound like an entirely bad thing ... his flippant remark is one I wouldn't make, but ...

Why I see that kind of cigar can be bought even less than that (77.50) but still more than his bid(not by much though). His price is his price. Now the taunt is just part of the fun of cbid. Aggervating as it may well be! Good nonbidding on your part Rob P. John

You've got to take into account that Porterville isn't too far from Fresno and it's been like 200 degrees in Fresno for the past week, so maybe he's got a little heat stroke going on.
That coupled with the California tobacco taxes being so high, he may have thought it wasn't a bad price.
But still, bad form... bad form.

To me, there is no bad bid. I may bid what my intellect tells me is too much, but if I want the lot it's worth it to me. If I'm happy with what I've got I don't give a Goddamn what I had to pay for it, I'm still happy. When I get in this mood, if I save ten bucks or ten cents, or bid over retail, it really doesn't matter to me, as long as I'm satisfied with it. Sorry......off on a rant without intending it.

Warning.........don't bid against me on something I really want; you'll pay way too much for it. ;^}

That's it! I'm bidding TWO dollars on the next lot of bad frogs, with the accompanying comment "IN YOUR FACE MAVEN!"

My point is if you want to pay retail or something close, go to the Cigars International retail site. The point here is to NOT pay retail. Some of the people here think in BRICK and MORTER RETAIL plus TAX instead of INTERNET RETAIL.

True,
In my local, "Brick and Morter" tobacconist, I have to pay, $12 a stick, for A.F. Hemi. signatures. I can get them online for 7-10 bucks. I try and bid under the $10 not the $12.

P.S. On a 2 week, self imposed moratorium on bidding. It ends tomorrow. Watchout, on the CAO maddies, and the Padron Maddies. I may overbid. LOL

RobertParrott ... YOUR point (and that of many others here) may be to NOT pay retail ... that is, INTERNET RETAIL instead of BRICK and MORTER RETAIL plus TAX ...

BUT ... while I don't contend that your thinking is wrong for YOU, I've gotta point out again that by your calculations, doing what he did, RL saved himself $10 ... Now, I ask you, if you were able to save $10 on every cigar purchase this year, how much money would you save ?? I don't even want to THINK of how much money savin' $10 on each purchase would save me because it'd make me cry ...

Remember, all I'm saying is that while by YOUR bidding philosophy, he got it wrong, by his he may have scored nicely ... we each bring different perspectives, needs and goals with us as we bid ... we're bound to take different approaches as a result ...

Let RL go his merry way while you go get another bid down ...
