Sweet Christ!

Everybody has a hard-on for Bucaneros, so I decided to look at their website...oh God!

They must've broken every single law of web design in the freakin' book!!!

+ All those freakin' animated GIFs (even one is too much)
+ Terrible looking pixelated graphics
+ Pages that have about siz feet of blank space at the bottom
+ No sense of placement or alignment with text or images
+ You have to go through 2-3 pages of BS to get to the actually website
+ Every link to the sections of the website stacked vertically on the index page with no coherent order
+ Some pages that make no sense whatsoever and just look out-of-place on a cigar website
+ Overall appears to be the product of a 13-year-old who just learned to use Microsoft FrontPage

Man, this place was an annoying MIDI file and all-caps text away from being some fat 15-year-old gothic chick's poetry site...except with cigars instead of terrible rhymes.

I know Bucaneros are supposed to be so great...but how do they expect to attract new customers with such a hideous webpage.

At least it seems the devoted Buc fans can look past that, lol. I guess Bucs sell themselves.

I'm half tempted to re-do it for them if they would throw in a free box!

Wait, what am I saying. I promised myself I would NEVER be a webmaster again after getting out of it the first time. .. .

Well.. Maybe three or four boxes.. (;

I just wrote them an email, citing some examples of poor design, and imploring them to pay for a professional to make them a proper web page.

Hopefully they listen.

Well ikonoklast7, I guess I'm glad that I don't smoke cigars based on their manufacturer's websites. Smoke a Bucanero, and you won't really care what the website looks like. The cigars sell themselves not the website!

Bucanero is a small 'boutique' factory, with a very small staff ... and they spend long hours fulfilling their customers needs and focusing on developing and producing quality cigars.

My guess would be ... is at the present time, they possibly do not wish to foot the expense, or even have the time to spend ... on website developement. And, I believe it may be Robert himself (with some additional in-house help, I'm sure) that does most of the work on their site ... and he's never claimed (to me anyway) to be a hotshot web developer.

I'm sure that as time goes on ... they will get the 'kinks' worked out of it ... and in the meantime, just enjoy their cigars!

Go to the Lone Wolf website. Man, that thing is SHARP. Seriously. I think that goes to show you which company has their priorities in the RIGHT place. God Bless Buc's...
