Hey All,

I hope you don't mind another question from a newbie. As I stated in a previous post, I do own a small humidor (10-15 cigars). I am thinking of purchasing a larger one (100-150) from Cbid. I was wondering if anyone owned any of the humidors advertised in the Auctions. If so, are there individuals that are really pleased with their humidors? or maybe those that are not pleased? Basically just wondering which were some of the better ones to look at.

Thanks
Mike

Mike, let's face facts, you're posting on cbid, you're considering buying a 150 count humidor... What's wrong with this picture? Here's what you do. Get an igloo cooler (150 quart). Put it in the basement. Start filling it. Keep the smokes you're ready to smoke in the current humidor. Apply the money you saved on the humi you're considering toward the "first" box you'll win. You'll thank me. The 150 count door will be a speed bump. Buy the coleman-a-dor, or the igloo-a-dor...

Do a search on...

Coolador
Coolerdor
Igloodor
etc.

That should get you started.

Thanks guys. I really don't know a lot about igloo-dors, coleman-dors or anything of the like. Are they pretty easy to construct? Thanks for your suggestions saves me money that I can spend on sampling new cigars!! :) I am going to check the boards for some posts on cooler-dors.

Thanks,
Mike

Easy? Here's how easy it is. I bought an igloo 100 quart cooler at wally world for $20.00 I'm getting climmax beads from a group buy for $15.50 (thanks a million SteveS). I am going to either buy a digital hygrometer for $20 -$25 bucks or trade for it, not sure what will be easiest. I keep it in my basement in my dark cool corner. I've got storage capacity for 200 - 300 sticks easy for under $75. I'll take the money I saved and buy more cigars. One of these days when I have a few hundred bucks burning a hole in my pocket and absolutely nothing else I need it for, I might invest in a piece of furniture for my cigars (gotta get the wife to believe it's a good thing to do). Until then, my cooler will be perfect for me and I'll be able to stock up on some boxes of trading material and aging stock.

Oh and I have a 30 - 40 desktop humi for my current smoking stock of sticks. Bought it here at cbids for under $40 shipped. You GOTTA love this place. :)
