What cigar are you going to smoke while watching the NFL draft this weekend? And since we're on the subject... Is Michael Vick the real deal? Can Flutie show him the ropes in San Diego? Who else in the draft looks like a sure thing? How does Trent Dilfer feel being ousted after winning a SuperBowl? Will any team ever be able to lure Joe Gibbs out of his race car and back to coaching? Will the Giants finish above .500 this year? Is Randy Moss human? What about Dante Culpepper? Are four preseason games necessary? Can ****** Vermeil do it all over again? Does anybody enjoy this game even half as much as I do? ...and should I smoke one short cigar each quarter, or savor an El Presidente for the entire second half?

I noticed in the new CI catalog that they are selling the Sinatra My Way Torpedo for 54 bucks a box! I got a Ten of them for $18 total on the aution board! I am a baseball fan, but will speak to the NFL draft.......Michael Vick played 2 years of College football, is that enough for a guy who is a marginal passer to be made a mulit millionaire in one quick choice? If I were drafting for Chargers-I would take Atlanta's offer of draft choices for him! I will smoke a Aristoff Torpedo and watch a few minutes of the draft! Charlie

Draft? What draft? Did someone say there's a draft? I usually watch just about the whole thing, with much excitement, but I don't think my team's going this year. All I have to say is Joey Galloway, who's here because our first round pick is now missing, better earn his keep this year! Go Cowboys (or what's left of them)! ....I think it remains to be seen whether or not Vick will own up to his hype. But, hey, no way can he be worse than Ryan Leaf! What a bust! I've always thought Flutie was exciting to watch, but is he the best choice as "mentor"? Would Troy Aikman have been better in that role? I think, though, Aikman would have been too great a gamble with all the concussions. JOE GIBBS -- HE'S the guy I wish the Cowboys had grabbed. PLEASE send him a check, Jerry Jones! Oh, you've touched on some sore subjects.... Randy Moss -- a brat at times, but the real deal! I recall another draft day, the Cowboys were on the clock, and Jerry Jones decides AT THAT MOMENT to muster up morals and announce Moss was just too great a risk for the morally-rebuilding Cowboys. He passed him up!! Daunte Culpepper -- the quarterback of the future -- he's got it all -- I think he could be a linebacker if he wanted. Go Tony Banks!

the rams will go all the way again. flute will proof once again that he is still a winner. i am smoking a 70 cent fuego del ray, whatever that is, that has been encased in the leaves of the acid cigars packing leaves for several days. it still tastes like a 70 cent cigar, but the jar smells great when i open it. if it doesn't smell good, stay away from it.

Hey, I am thinking about buying a box of LaLunas from the CI catalog! I have a LaLuna African Fuerta Camaluna a friend gave to me......report later. In the meantime, I am a Chiefs fan, and am still wondering what they are going to do for a quarterback, since Elvis left the building. I am hoping that they make a trade for Trent Green and shore up that position! They have one of best lines in NFL, if not the best, but have no running back or quarterback. No, not Trent Dilfer or any of the other stiffs and statues they have talked to! Maybe signing Buerline would not be a bad move! Gotta wait and see! Back to work. :)Charlie

For me, a native San Diegan, this is the most exiting draft day since...oh yeah, never mind. Ryan who? I would appreciate hearing some outside perspective on what the Chargers have done this off-season, with Butler, Flutie, Turner, etc. I am a 20 year season ticket holder and way too close to be objective, but COMMON F*&%G Raiders! I do love the game.

You guys need to talk about cigars when covering sports chat also!!!!! Oh, I just finished the LaLuna that I spoke of in the earlier post, and God it was great! I take back my thoughts about them and the self promoting Gael-he has puts out one great cigar! On to the Chargers, living in Costa Mesa, CA, I get enough Charger news on XTRA to almost be a fan, but I am a life long Chiefs fan! We hate the Raiders(and their crook of an owner) more than San Diego fans hate them! Chargers should take the trade offer from Atlanta and give them Vick. They need more help on offense than any team in football; however, Flutie is a great start, but not the solution! He can win games and excite the fans-something that San Diego needs! Their defense is solid, just had to play too much due to no offense last season, and should be a better team this year! Hey Joe, I like the Sinatra My Way very much! They are really beautiful and have a nice taste and pleasant aroma! Good cigars. Charlie

Hey, Charlie. The only talk for Kansas City seems to be Trent Green. Nothing may be done until KC is on the clock 12th in the first round! I guess you'll have to bite your nails until then. I think Grbac was a great loss. Didn't he have a much improved year last year? I wish the Cowboys could have afforded him. (I never thought I'd use "Cowboys" and "can't afford" in one sentence.) Too bad Bam Morris was such a bust. (He WAS in KC for a while, wasn't he?) Man, what wasted talent! He was the hometown hero here in Lubbock when he was a Tx Tech Red Raider. ....In other news: The Lions are looking at Jerry Rice. This free agency stuff is crazy. I guess Jim Harbaugh will throwing to him if so.

Jerry Rice to Detroit? Really? Then they would have the best receiver coupled with the best running back, err... oh, never mind...
