Is he the best EVER? How many more years at this pace will it take to make this a statement rather than a question?

Not really. It was obvious that he had the skills to be the best, but to consistently be mentally prepared? From a psychological aspect, it must be easier getting to the top than staying there. I'm not sure, but I'll tell you when I get there...

Until one of the "sheep" that bow to him decides it is time to knock him off the mountain, it looks like Tiger is the best! Greatest ever, gotta wait and see..there have been some pretty great golfers in history! Roy McAvoy..............and ..Charlie

The Golden Bear and the late Bobby Jones are still the ones you must overcome to get that honor. Tiger has yet to win the slam. He claims he has but not until you get them all in the same year......sorry Tiger fans. Thats like saying Charles Barkley had a wonderful career, which he did. He failed to win a championship....that left him hollow and everyone knows that, including himself!

I have to disagree.... Tiger is the only one who has held all four majors at the same time. Including the Players Championship and he is doing it in a time when the golfers are quite a bit better than golfers of yesteryear. No offense to Jack, Arnie, Bobby et al, but they didn't have the stiff competition or the PGA tour events making the course playing conditions tougher trying to keep scores higher. But then again it might be those Nike balls, Nike spikes etc... I gotta go to the golf shop now!

The equipment was subpar in those days too.....Tiger also went throught the controversy about a year ago remember. The balls he hits with are not regulation like those anyone could else could get. They still fell in PGA standards but only he had them. Sorry Tiger fans.

You and I can get the exact same ball that Tiger plays at your local golf shop. It's comparable to the Titlest PVI that a lot of pro's are playing on the tour, this year and Tiger is still winning...
I do agree with your equipment being better today; wouldn't it be great to bring back the ghosts of yesteryear to compare!

Golf is one of the few sports that you CAN compare to yesteryear. The Absolute score does not matter. It is your score relative to your opponent who is using the same technology, or at least should be. It doesn't matter that Tiger drive further, or putts better than Jack or Arnie. It matters that he does it better than todays competition.
