It's getting ridiculous! The Liberal Left Wing has taken over the good people of this land. Before you get your panties pulled tighter than the rubber band on your NRA hate file, listen up. This has to do with Cigar Smoking. I've read many posts from friends like Charlie who live on the left coast and have to deal with the outspoken hollywood do-gooders. I live in the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts, so you'd think I'd be used to this. But I just got a note in the mail from my local tobacco shop. There is a town vote in early May regarding banning smoking in ALL PUBLIC BUILDINGS! This would include the cigar shop itself! This isn't about a poorly designed non-smoking section placed directly above a cigar bar. This is about eliminating the freedom for business owners to make a living. It will affect all restaurants, shops, bars etc. Even those with OUTDOOR areas! When will this bull**** end? Does anybody know of a group or organization that can help fight such outrageous laws? The only hope for this law to fail would be if all the blue-hairs that flock to the Cape are the same ones with winter homes in Miami-Dade. C'mon Chad...

Sounds just like what we got here in Ca. Gater.Only a few have managed to get around it.Thats why I believe you have to do what you can to support everyones freedoms and any thinking person should feel the same way.You can't just sit there while this group loses its right to say smoke cigarettes or this ones right to ride dirt bikes or snowmobiles or helmet laws.restricting freedom is wrong period and these people won't stop until they get to your freedom to do whatever you like to do.They will get to you eventually
it's all they do.

OwmahGod! Sounds like the California(Left) coast is moving across the country where such illuminaries as Teddy "Swimmer" Kennedy fall into a bottle of Scotch or two daily and will lift his arm and shout "abolish evil smoking!" Damn shame the effect it has on business people who are forced out of business to serve the same blue hairs, etc you described in the post! Fight it! Get out and work against this thing, or you will be like JJ and me in California(thank God we still have a few oasis of cigar smokers left)looking for a place to smoke outside of our back yards!Charlie

Not to crush dreams....but it has already happened in Austin T.X. NO smoking in resturants, NO smoking in public parks, NO smoking on state capital grounds. I have no idea where people get together and smoke cigars. I take that back, theres a so called smoke "Bar" downtown, it costs 20 bucks to get in and theres a dress code. Its kind of a snoty dress up and look cool place, where everyone buys the BIGGEST damn stick they can buy, you know the ones.
