I'm with Hansen here, on the subject on new boards. This is supposedly a cigar forum on a cigar site, yet only two of the five boards are cigar related. I also recall serious action was going to be taken on a cigar ratings board, where we could leave brief comments on a brand and size, and a rating which I guess all the individual ratings would be averaged out. Now that I just received my last issue of CA whose ratings are about worthless anyway, might as well as the cat, I would like to see the opinions of true blue cigar smokers like in this forum who won't mince words, and doesn't have an advertising budget to answer to.

I agree ... and there are still those 'numskulls' out there who insist on posting non cigar related babble on the wrong boards. We need a board stictly for them ... oh hell, maybe I'm just being to hard on those with learning disabilities ...

Hey Slimboli, go easy on yourself! It must be a wonderful and filling life to be a member of the "board police"....oh hell, forget about it!

Ditto, I agree that there are few boards out there that deal with ratings, just ratings. CA has them on the back pages if you can believe them (they're rated by all their Senoir Editors who could tell the difference between tobacco grown on the north side of a hill as opposed to the south side). Smoke mag is just ok, but, I'd still like to hear it out of the mouths of real people who work for a living. I know you just added another board, but I think you'd get alot more followers with a really good ratings board. Are there other issues I haven't thought of to make this a reality?......Brent

Charlie ... someone has to do it, otherwise these boards would be like many of the others that are out there, and would just turn into a mush pot of garbage. What's wrong with that? Making this forum a site of quality content takes work ... on all our parts ... so if you are not part of the solution, then you're a part of the problem. Following a few simple guidelines shouldn't be that hard ...

... oops ... did I repeat myself? Must be my subconscious attempt to repeat myself to those who couldn't comprehend what I stated the first time ... LOL!

Slimboli,

I was just being a wiseass to make a cute comment and throw some humor, but I agree with you guys 100% on the boards and the potential rating board. I did team with Tailgater to have some fun and make a case for a Sports Board. It worked and we still had cigars in our posts regarding sports. A rating board would be great. Charlie

Slim, funny how you screwed up on the double post since your last line was " Following a few simple guidelines shouldn't be that hard ..." Also, it seems to me that the vast majority of your recent posts have not been cigar related, but rather an attempt to slow down the non-cigar issues that have kept everybody interested. Now that we have "other" boards, you can stop your policing and enjoy this forum again. As will I, as will I...

Yeah, it is funny how I posted only once, and it showed up twice. No fault of mine ... it seems to do that every now and then, to lot's of people ... and it has nothing to do with the content or posting on the correct boards I was refering to.

... and, if folks who visit a cigar site must talk about things other than cigars just to keep it interesting, then I suggest they go post elsewhere ...

Yeah. No bull**** and no cigar talk either. Cripes, if it weren't for the crying about sports and other subjects, this board would have been empty. But at least Slim would be happy. Or would he? Some people will always complain...

Slim's the man. He's just trying to keep things focused. He's just not the politically correct type. He says what he feels. That may rub some people wrong. He's one of the most generous people I know.
(Slim made me write the above statement. Help me! I'm being held hostage in his basement.)

LOL at Rookie and Jack ... thanks guys. I'm just getting a little bored with it, and miss the old crowd ... sound like someone else we know? Hehehehehe ... felt like stirring it up a little. After all, Wanyburger just gave up, and doesn't post much anymore ... and I miss that kind of stuff every now and then. By the way ... you both have something coming your way, as soon as I can get to the post office! And Jack ... you can leave my basement ... as soon as you finish smoking the rest of my 'dog rockets' ... ROTFLMAO!!!

Slimboli, I take it you are from the Cleveland area by your comments about "the boys locked in the basement!"
Are there any good cigar bars, or cigar friendly joints in the Flats or in downtown Cleveland? Being from California, those things are like dinasours and silent movies! Charlie

Awww. Everyone loves everyone. Isn't that sweet? Now, let's stop this lovefest and smoke some cigars. And not those pansie Mild ones either. We need full bodied Hondurans. Extra dry to promote a subtle harshness. Fire extinguisher, anyone?

Jim ... I gave one to a guy at work who has never smoked a cigar in his life ... doesn't even smoke cigs! He told me today that the smoked it this weekend ... and was impressed. He liked it!!! I'm telling you, I haven't met one person yet who has smoke them that didn't like them, and I've given out quite a few ... mild to medium bodied ... but full of flavor ... very 'cuban-like' in taste ...

Charlie,I'm the one from Cleceland. As for Slim,Rookie,Jack,Tail..these guys post more than I do but we have all become quite good friends. These boards have been for the most part, very informative and opinionated about Cigars in general. There have been a good numbers of posts that..for other than no reason to name are plain bull****. Hell I even tried to gey a Sports Board over a year ago...now they listen. But the satement that Jack made bought being held hostage...it's true.
