Okay, my internet was down for a few days, but I'm back now (after I hear godfather was accidentally posting under my name while I was gone).
Anyway, tonight I had a bad experience. I got a La Perla Habana toro as part of a sampler from CBid, and it was sitting in my humi for several weeks.
All the other cigars from that sampler were great, but tonight I tried lighting up the Perla...
First off, the foot looked really funny when I lit it up, like it sort of bloomed out, but that went away after the first ash. The dry was hard, but tasted okay...then all of a sudden the wrapper just split! After that, the taste became nasty and I put it out before the wrapper had time to unravel.
From all appearances, this cigar looked, felt, and tasted like it was bone dry! But it had been setting in the humi for weeks, plus, I'd already had a cigar from the same humi that day and it was fine.
Is this just a thing with La Perla Habanas, or is there some other explanation?
