I usually like beers like St Pauli Girl, Old Speckled Hen, Guinness, Newcastle etc, but I just got done drinking a Tire Biter. It is a golden ale made by the Flying Dog brewery. It is like what a Bud or Miller wishes it tasted like. Light, yet flavorful. It went down very well.

Damn, you guys are complicated. Give me just about any amber lager with a Sinatra My Way or a Placencia Opulencia

Depending on the bar I'm in I'll have any of the following:

Heineken
Red Stripe
Harp
Sam Adams
Fosters
Rolling Rock
St. Paulie Girl
...and any free beer is a good beer!

Our campus bar used to have Lone Star for $0.65 apiece. They discontinued that and now I'm paying $0.80 for Shiner bock. Not bad (price or beer) and they open at 4pm. One of my grad students is bartending, so she'll give us a discount occasionally (we make it up in tips - I'm cheap, but c'mon...).

Nice to see people mention St. Arnolds (here in Houston) and Schell's. I did my undergraduate studies in a small southern MN town near New Ulm and we put away lots of the local Schells Deer Brand and other Schells specialties (come to think of it, we put away a lot of everything.... ah, college - that's why I never left). It's the oldest brewery in the US. They never shut down during prohibition because nobody had the guts to tell this town of German immigrants that they had to stop making/drinking their beloved bier!

When I'm feeling wealthy I buy the fancy imports and microbrews y'all are listing. My wife is particularly partial to Fat Tire Ale, out of Boulder CO. Cheers.

Yuengling - another good one. My mom is from Penn and when her German immigrant relatives first came to the US they all worked at that brewery. My dad grabs a case of the Lager and Black&Tan whenever they go out for a visit. Unfortunately, I don't get out that way very often.

I have to agree with bud on the imports. If you like Guinness and Hacker, try Smithwicks.

No beer. Don't like it. Sorry guys.

I don't like to keep getting up to wizz.

Durimg the day a 32oz pitcher of Kahlua (home brewed), med. bodied gars.

At night as much Bacardi 151 and full bodied gars as I can handle.

After some 151 you can't get up too sucessfully anyway.

Anything by Sam Adams. Anything by Fuller's. Anything by Pete's. Anything by Sierra Nevada (Pale Ale in particular), and of course, Guinness.

I've started buying My beer by the keg this summer and so far I've liked the Killians' Red best. For bottled I like Flying Dog Ale out of Denver when I can get it!

neuroman; yes had it and loved it. I believe it was the purple label. Liked it best at about 50-55 degrees. Nice flavor and kick.

My two most memorable beers (neither of which seem available anywhere now) were Theakston's Bitter Ale and Karlsbrau.
