wbslngr, I think it is a neat idea, but I think you had a post on here a while back that had more potential. I think it was the idea to design a website for the cigar birthday club. However, I would not limit it to cigars alone. I would allow anyone to exchange anything for anyone's b-day or any other occasion. I really havent seen that done before. There are tons of web-based registry systems out there, though no one to my knowledge has one for cigars. Still, I think the Birthday Club has more potential.
I've been designing and building web-based apps for the last 5-6 yrs. All of the work has been for Intranets. You and I must have thought of the Cigar Birthday site at the same time, because I had sketched out screen designs, high level requirements, entity relationship diagrams, blah, blah, blah. If I had the spare cash, I would have paid for hosting for a year and see if I got any bites on the idea. However, after seeing the responses to the post you got on the idea, I decided the money would be better spend on CBID 5-packs. I was thrilled to see that someone else had the same idea, though.
Just curious, do you do a lot of coding yourself, or do you focus mainly on off-the-shelf products.
Keep the thoughts and ideas coming, bro.
