Hi all,

Took a hint from another thread (re: how much something would have cost retail..); rather than jack that thread I'll ask how much below retail do you generally spend?

I'll go first. My last week-long bid was good size and overall I was 70% of the prices on CI. Must confess I got excited and badly overbid on some but made up for it on others.

What's your experiance?

Jim

I personally do not set a percentage or discount I am looking for. I usually browse what is available for what is on my list of "must-try's" or "everyday favorites" and then check what the current retail prices seem to be and then decide how much I feel the cigars are worth to me and then set an auto-bid at that amount and see what happens. I would say I usually end up getting premium 5-packs for 10% or so off the retal and the cheapo's for a lot more than that.

If I'm not in a hurry I'll bid 50% of what I can get it for online. If I really want something I'll pay closer to 75%

It depends. I'm really cheap with the first item of the week. After that, I'll pay up to within 5% or so of full retail if it's something that I really want. 'Cause after that 1st purchase there's still no tax and very little shipping cost. The BIG savings come from not taking chances on cigars that I haven't tried or recommended by someone I trust. Saving on cigars that I'll never smoke is real stupid.

I don't limit my price based on a percentage but it does seem to be that I've been paying about 60% of the CI retail price not counting shipping.

As long as it doesnt surpass CI prices Ill keep bidding. We here in CA pay a high price for all tobacco products so its still a good deal if its $2.00 cheaper then CI retail. Cant even fathom buying boxes locally. There is a shop here in town that has a web site that lists California and Non-California prices, the difference is astounding. For example, the difference between CA resident prices and Non-CA resident for a box of CAO Maduro Beliscos is $64.00

OUCH! GOD BLESS C-BID!
