I know the Hamiltons get a lot of bad press on this BB. I am one of the people who bought a box of the torpedoes a year ago. When I smoked my first one, it was obvious they needed some serious dore time. It has been a year now since I got them, so I decided to fire one up this morning. Man, what a difference a year makes. They have smoothed out considerably. Nice woody flavor with a hint of spice. Considering I only paid $25, they have become a hell of a smoke. So, if you were one of those who were disappointed with this cigar a year ago, pull one out of the back of your tupperdore and try it again. You may be surprised. Keep smokin'.

When you were young did they call you Stan the boy? Or is your wife's name also Stan, and that is how you get your mail? Anyway, I am going to try these cigars once again as you suggest. I thought I was out of luck because I tossed my remaining ones into the compost bin, but lo and behold the bacteria refused to eat them! Must be my lucky day. Actually, the ones that I have seem to be aged well enough. They tend to exude almost a "pipe tobacco" sweetness, and they smoke like a mixed filler, just as most of Tamborils products do. I can't seem to discern "woody" from that range of flavors, but I might give it another try based on your post.

I have two boxes that have been around for a while, toros and robustos. They have become "better" with age, but still a yard work or fishing smoke. I find them to be equal to or better than the 5 Vegas I have. Wow, what time can do.
