What, in your humble opinions, are the best ISOM cigars (based on the brand, size, etc.) out there...and which ones are the worst?

Since I've only had one ISOM since I started up on cigars a few months ago, I can only saw that the Cohiba Siglo III was one of the best cigars I've had so far.

Can't say which the worst is...guess I'll have to smoke more of 'em.

Daniel,

What's with the ISOM craze? Have you tried a La Perla Habana Black Perl? I'm new at this too but I have the ISOMs at the local tobacky store. And they are good. Don't get me wrong. But there are some brands that can go toe to toe with them. I didn't like the Romeo and Julieta's. The H.Upmans have a horrible draw problem and don't taste that good. The Cohiba is my favorite but even some of them can be a hard draw sometimes. And there's nothing like the frustration of screwing up a cut on a 20 euro ISOM. What do you think of some of the super sticks you can get around Bloomington? I can't get some of those like you guys can here in Germany.

Ajeroth - I've been wanting to try some of those Black Perls. Might have to go down to the local shop and try one out

Back to the question, what are the best and worst ISOMs in all of your opinions?

Hopefully someone will freakin' RESPOND this time (besides ajeroth and myself)

My best has been a Monte #2 with about 5 years of age on it. Havn't really had a 'bad one' per say. I've had some serious draw problems with a few Cohibas and an RyJ, but they were still great smokes none the less.

I know nothing about "ISOMs"....................but, from what I've been able to glean from the boards is that the major problem is quality control. Tobacco is great, with a great taste, but as pointed out they tend to be inconsistent in constuction. And this tends to be the case regardless of brand. Soooo........acquiring them, unfortunately, may be a rather expensive crap-shoot.

Agree with Rick, and my favorite is the Montecristo #2!

Monte #2, Partagas Lusitania and SD4, San Cristobal La Punta. I would not say ISOMs are necessarily "better" than other premium non-ISOM cigars but they definitely have a unique character.

Partagas Lusitania
RASS
D4
Punch Punch
Cohiba Robusto
Monte #2

All great, depending on the year they were made, how well they've been aged, and which factory they came out of.

Worst: Almost any brand, depending on Castro's need for foreign currency. Poor balance of trade=rushed cigars, unaged tobacco, poor quality control, resulting in many plugged cigars.
