mpingree --- almost every major domestic factory that sells here in the US ... has it's counterpart in Cuba. Most all those factories actually started in Cuba ... and factories in Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Honduras, etc., took over the names for their cigars ... because Cuba can do nothing about trademark infringement.
Partagas, Montecristo, Cohiba, Hoyo de Monterrey, etc. are just a small example.
So ... for just about every cigar that you find in Cuba, you will find its 'legal' counterpart here in the US ...
Like Robby said ... make sure it says 'Habana' somewhere on the band.
