Don't you love it when...

You have a momentary lapse of control.... when all of the built up pressure of trying to restrain yourself and stay within the "bidding limit" that you promised your wife finally explodes and in a fit of temporay insanity you fire of 5 bids in 3.2 seconds... then the inevitable remorse comes when you snap out of it and realize "I just bid on a box of Rum Runners..." you quickly do the math and realize you just spent your entire cigar budget for the next two months...

But then, you check your email, and those glorious messages are there - "Your Bid is Too Low!" Someone likes Rum Runners too!! Woohoo! You still have your cigar budget to spend! Now with more control and care, you peruse the selections, and find that deal you've been looking for....and all is well...

It's all about the little joys in life

... I'm very bored this morning...

Been there...

I have been looking at a new humi, and over zealously bid a bit more than I should have. I too got the same comforting email... Your bid is too low!

btw... real cigars names have been changed, references to "Rum Runners" have been provided to protect the innocent. The author of the above thread in no way admits to even TRYING Rum Runners... well... maybe.. but I didn't inhale...

What are these "Rum Runners"? Are they something that you're not to admit to owning/smoking? Are they sort of like admiting to watching reality TV?

I'd admit to watching reality programming before I'd admit to even standing downwind from someone ELSE smoking a Rum Runner ... there is NO chance I'd ever light one and smoke it myself ...

Who'd take the trouble to bid actual money on Rum Runners??? Why not just gather some lawn clippings, spray them with the wife's cheapest perfume, and wrap them in an autumn leaf??

And now to jack my own thread..

Are you new? With a name like Elle... I think I would have remembered seeing you around....

Ethan

I ran accross CBid a couple of months ago (spending some money and completely enjoying it. The boxes in the mail make it seem like XMas every week), but hadn't read the forums until recently. You seem like a lively and interesting group. Although now I'm a bit curious about these rum runners.
