If you haven't seen this ... I thought you might find this amusing ...

You know you've made it to the 'big leagues', once they start 'dissing' you over at CF ... LOL!

**Edited due to competitor reference**

Hey ... who gives a sh*t anyway ...

You had something someone wanted, one person was willing to pay your asking price ... and everyone's happy.

Why anyone should care about that, is beyond me ... but, then again ...

... look at how many folks here 'whine' about the overbidders ... LOL!

True, Slim, and here's the rest of the story. The local's barcode price sticker is still on them: $18.49 each. Add 8.25% tax, and add shipping which I included, plus the fact that there are no more available and won't be until who knows when, how big a hosing was it? At one of the "Gentlemen's Clubs" in town, they go for $100 each. Of course, I won't strip, so I get less. lmao

eleltea --- I'm totally behind you on this one ...

Out here in California ... they would be much higher than that, so I don't think you did any 'hosing' at all!

It's al relevant ... and I congratulate you on a great sale! Everyone made out ... and that's what it's all about.

Now ... on a side note ...

Let's see how long it takes someone to to give me a good 'SLAP' ... for postng a link, that goes to a link to that 'other' auction site ... LOL!

BTW eleltea ... Since you made it public here on this forum ... I had to come to your defense over at CF ... and 'borrowed' some of the words words you posted here ...

... with a little 'editing', of course ... LOL!

It just started to really bug me, to see them all leaning to 'one side' ...

Taking them a long time to yank your post.

You're right...California retail prices make anything seem like a bargain...except Reno or Vegas.

Thanks, Slim. I don't post over there, so I only read a few of the sneering comments from all the connoisseurs. I probably won't look again, thinking of my blood pressure and all.

The Diamond Crown is very commonly called the West Coast Opus, I didn't invent the phrase. I actually prefer the DC over the Opus, but am one of the few who are not crazy about either. Just my taste. But this Maximus is different. I really, really liked the robusto. I have a few of the pyramids set aside and one day soon after a great dinner will try one of them with a nice port.

I overpay for cigars all the time, but only for the great and hard-to-get ones that I can't find on c-bid.

I know (hanging my head in shame) ... I was waiting for that ... hehehe!

The 'L.O.D.' just got the ultimate 'SLAP' from the 'G.O.D.' (God's of Discipline) ... ;^)

I don't think this was as egregious as my box split post on the trade board, Slim. Maybe the letter of the law was violated, but not the spirit. Wasn't any attempt here to steer anybody someplace else to buy cigars. Exposing our people to the viciousness of that crowd should make them extra grateful for this board. I think you deserve a pass. Especially since you came to the defense of a fellow c-bidder. lol

Yeah ... I guess ... but 'rules are rules', and I most likely would have made point of it, if it was someone else ... LOL!

After all ... if it is, or if it has, a link to a competetor, it just isn't allowed ... regardless of the intentions.

That is, of course ... unless it was just an oversite and was unintentional. Admin was right ... I should have known better ... ;^)
