Well after about a 5 month hibernation period, I awoke one of this bad boys. It was an okay looking smoke, dark and wierd looking. I love torprdos and belicosos but this shape is wierd. I clipped the end and dry smoked it for a while, not too bad. I finaly lit the sucker and it was pretty good, the strength was better than expected and had good flavors. But then it began too burn wierd and inconsistent, not enough smoke, I had to puf and puf befor I could get a good toke. Mid way through it began to burn hot, even holding it was burning my fingers, the taste was good though, the strength kept up and the flavor was still there. In the end I have to attribute the poor burn and inconsistency to the shape, perhaps a corona or robusto of this same kind would be alot better, Over all the smoke had good flavors and was strong enough, not full bodied but in between med-to-full. Try the Indian tabac maduros if you have the chance just not this shape!!!

I've had many of those. I like them. The shape is a 'trumpet'. Try another stick, maybe you just got a bad one the first time.

The burn problems you mention arent due to its shape, I've had many of them and no burn problems at all.

Actually I had a worst draw problem, I had to do a second cut to expose more, it helped a little. I keept them under 70 so I know they are not too moist, but maybee I got a bad one. Not to worry I am not swayed by first impressions and I am not one to quit at the first sign of struggle. I have a few more I will smoke if by then they don't improve, then I will.....
who know what I will do then. LOL

If you stoke one several times hard to get a good whack of smoke, and if you do that a couple of times fairly quickly, the cigar will indeed get very hot. Literally sucking the heat right down the stick. I have had the type of troubles you mentioned once in a while, too, with different sticks. Just gotta do the hard work and try another. It's a tough job, but somebody's gotta do it!

Coma-one, That's awful how that happened to You! But as a true "Brother of the Leaf" I'd be happy to, ah,dispose of them for You. Just an act of kindness You know.
