So, after receiving my AVO freebie a week or so ago, I decided to smoke it tonight. It was a classic tubo robusto. This was my first AVO, and I was unsure of what to expect, but I certainly wasn't expecting what I got, which can only be described as OLD LADY PERFUME. I've seen some of the ACID cigars described this way, but is this standard for an AVO? I'm not talking about aroma - the aroma was quite pleasant, but the TASTE nearly gagged me. My wife usually takes a single draw from my cigar, and replies with simple descriptions such as "mild" or "harsh" or (!) "smoky", but when she took a draw from this one, I kept an eye on her to see if it was just me or if she would notice it too - she almost choked and said "it tastes like my grandma!" Needless to say I was disappointed, but I can't complain - it was a freebie. So I'm just curious, has anyone else experienced this? I always give a new cigar 2 or 3 tries, maybe more, before reaching a final decision on future purchases, but I gotta say, if this is typical AVO, I am truly not interested.
thanks!
