tailgator, what the Sierra Club is doing makes complete sense. They need to survive, even better thrive, how to do that is by creating fear, all groups need a devil and a way to create fear or they will find it hard going. When you don't have a concrete enemy, a true to life factual cause, create one. Look how a civil rights group in Atlanta made a name for itself a number of years ago, raking in millions of dollars by creating the southern black church burning hoax. Racism is still around, but today groups like the NAACP have to manufacture racism, and get into the field of metaphysics to create racism and we have institutional racism, testing racism, etc., and since they can't find visible racists, especially ones with lots of money, that often anymore, they manufacturue it, then blackmail huge corporations who can't afford the bad publicity. So the Sierra Club is just business as usual. They should thank their lucky stars for Gale Norton, membership went through the roof after they finished bashing her, she even signed a photograph for one of their honchos, and had a laugh together, why not, she got them big money, they should have been ashamed of themselves for what they did, but that's life.
