I didn't even plan to be bidding on that one... Don't know if it was a good deal or not, but just over half store price. Anywho, I just thought I'd post and let everyone know that I'm officially in now.

Ok, say hello~

Good job. CAO extremes are damn good...any of their line is great in my opinion.

Welcome....

...and don't think you can stop at just one. Hell, you have to win $50 worth of smokes just so the shipping charge makes winning worth it.

By the way, I've meant to ask: How are these shipped? I know the method (priority, etc), but I mean physically, how are they shipped? Leftover box or something? Ok thanks.

Also, how long should these rest before I smoke them. Yes, I know this has been asked and answered before... A week is what I seem to remember just to get them even, but past that for general aging? Would it be suitable for me to light one after it's rested, then age the rest? Right, I got it, do whatever I want to do... I'm asking for opinions.

Thanks. Yes I ramble.

As a first win celebration, I'm having an apple cinnamon bagel with cream cheese and melted Nutella. I invented that combination so don't get any ideas, but its dang good! Enjoy with milk.

Congrats. and welcome from another newbie. Start planning on making your first coolerdor. Then, start building up your inventory for trades. I sent my first two out today. Everybody here is great, and very, very helpful. Anything for a new Brother Of The Leaf, just ask. Good Luck.

For just a 5pack, they will be in a CI ziploc in a box with some peanuts. You will pay $3.95 S/H for that one 5pack. More 5packs will only add .50 each to s/h if you get them shipped at one time. That's why it is a better value to actually win several 5packs and have them shipped on the same day (http://www.cigarbid.com/auction/program/help.cfm#shipping). I know I sound like I'm a sales rep for CBid, but the value of the deal diminishes if you only win 1 5pack.

At any rate...you still got some good smokes. Even if they are the only ones and you have to factor in $4 s/h to calculate the value...it's still probably better than picking them up locally.

Hope this helps.

Definately better than picking them up locally. The only thing I'd have bought locally was a CAO Brazilia Samba, and that's too big for me.

Gotcha on the win-more-than-one-5-pack-for-shipping thing. I'll see what I can do. Don't have a lot to spend... Plus I have to get a cutter (planning on a Xicar). Humidor's fine for now, can make a coolerdor later if need be, but I doubt I'll need one, as I only smoke once or twice a week, and don't plan to change that.

Also, about all this trading and gifting... It's a bit striking to me. I'm used to trading cds (live music, legally), but not cigars. This is very interesting.

In reply to winning more than one for shipping reasons:

CAO Box-Pressed Tubo #1 Maduro (5-Pack)

I just won that too, so that's two 5 packs, which would be enough cigars for me to smoke for 2 months.

Ok, that's all from me for a while... gotta stick my nose in a Modern Physics book for a while.

I guess you know what most of the initials stand for and all. Any questions feel free to ask. And if you want to trade some good sticks for a show or two, then I'd surely work it out...those are all in .shn format if you need to know... google knows what I'm talking about.

Do you trade shows?

Anyway... Sorry for the length of this post.

But that's not even a third of what I have. Probably 500 to 1000 discs worth. About 400 shows.

Yes welcome naked, since CAO eXtreme Coronas are also on my top 10, well maybe top 5 list. Anyways, you will begin to smoke more and buy more, cause this is a little addicting.

PS, when you get sick of CAO's, you can always send them to me for an appropriate burial!!!

Yeah I can see how this site would be addictive. But I'm pretty tight-fisted (monetarily, that is) and so I think I'll probably smoke about as much as usual..

Doubt I'll be sending any of the CAOs your way buddy, but thanks for the very generous offer~

And about the trade board... I currently have 3 cigars, so I doubt I'll be much for trading for a while. Of course I do have the 10 I won incoming, but I imagine I'd rather just reap the rewards of those on my own.

But I'll check it out. I'm not sure how it works, and thusly wouldn't want to get too involved, cause I don't want to rip anyone off.

Just another quick message here... I today made my first purchase on CI... I bought an Xi2 cutter (the cutter I have is absolute crap) along with a 12 sampler (CAO flavours) and the Mayorga coffee infused tin (Kenyan AA). Yeah, so I'm willing to try the flavoured cigars, maybe I'll like them, maybe I won't. Either way I'll know. And I've got some CAO extreme and #1 Box pressed tubos on the way, so I'm happy on non-flava-flav cigars too... This will offically be more cigars than I've ever had at one time. And I'm ok with that.

The weather's cool, the cigars should be here sometime soon (I hope)... maybe I'll get some matches (if I understand the process properly...).

Still don't know about the hubcap, however.

And the CI stuff just shipped today...
