Tsunami alert, hope I don't drown.

Well, it looks like there was an earthquake in Japan. Still not certain where it was, but we have a Tsunami alert until 10:00 tonight.
My house is at sea level, so if we get a tsunami, I can pretty much bet my house will be gone.
Not likely that we will get one, but they are a bit cautious when it comes to these things.
They are watching pretty closely to see what happens. If the tsunami siren goes off, we have enough time to gather belongings and get to high ground.
Fun stuff. :)

it wont hit that far off O... Hell I seen it on the Map... I thought Maybe you was Stationed in Japan.. around Masawa AFB or something... thats about where it looked to be hitting....

what a TDY that was... 19 Days of Fun in Japan!!!!

I probably Drank a Gallon of Snake Saki while I was there!!!! Smoked Tons of Cigars and Ate all kinds a seafood on the Grill!!!!

They calculate that if there is one, it will show signs of it around 10:00 pm tonight.
I can't remember how fast they said tsunamis move, but I think it was somewhere around 700 mph. Incredibly fast.
There was a tidal wave here in the 60s and it did an incredible amount of damage and with the way the population here has increased, it would be catastrophic. From the sound of it, the alert may be called off. :)

Hog, the tidal wave that hit in the 60s was from Japan, that is what gets these folks so nervous.
It took 16 hours to hit Oregon.

Cool... I seen the Discovery Channel on the one that hit Japan back around that time... it was Massive!!!!
