Crappy or paper mouths are good eating. They are as prevalent in the north as they are in the south.

You need to catch a pounder to get a good fillet out of them. A little butter, fish batter and you're all set.

DrMaddVibe,

I was wondering where all the Amberjack from the east coast of Florida goes. We only keep the smaller ones and we take them to the smokehouse. The larger ones are too wormey usually, so we throw them back. They are fun to catch, great fighters, especially at 50+ pounds.
I also think there was a typo on the crap fingers, I think that they ment to write carp fingers.
