Just bid on (2) five packs and hope they are as good as they are said to be. A rather expensive cigar when I have priced them in the past.

well personally when I smoke these it is after dinner. They are a bit dry, mild to medium flavored, and I have experienced more than I would have liked of these burning hot. But otherwise it is a solid cigar with a nice woody taste. I don't know how imperative aging is for these cigars, simply because of number of cigars I have, they had to be aged for I couldn't smoke them that often, but I don't recall them tasting that much better now than before, only I do realize now that lately I haven't had any burn hot, so maybe aging helps with that. Don't expect to be knocked off your socks, but certainly a respectable cigar worthy of an hour of your time.

tell you what, now that I think about it, another what I conside underrated cigar along this Astral line is Thomas Hinds, after aging them three months, they have a very nice toasty flavor. I won a five pack last summer and liked these enough that I won a box of the Vintage when on special, haven't had those yet. Don Lino is another mild, smooth rich smoke, again in the robusto size I am not familiar with the other sizes. Even Don Juan, can be very delicious, though can also be very bad! All of these and 5 Vegas I have often enjoyed after dinner when I don't want the full flavored smoke. And for mild, Carlos Torano is really wonderful, but that is far from the taste of Astral. Okay I will stop with that, covering about 1/5 of my after dinner cigars in the past.

I just bought a box.. Was looking for a top quality
cutter and saw an offer to buy a box of the Astral's
and receive a "free" Xikar cutter.. Worked out that
I paid $ 40.00 for the smokes.. thought it was a deal
for sure ! I would rank the smokes on tghe 1-10 as a
7 or so.. would'nt have been worth the $$ without the
Xikar..

Astral is real similar to Ashton and the Griffin's. Good smokes, consistent but mild. The real difference is in the price. Astral's are usually considerably less the aforementioned. Aging doesn't hurt but this stick will never mature to excitement.
